We were looking forward to a lovely family meal but very disappointed. Mac ‘n cheese. It cost £14 and was a small child’s portion with a small salad garnish and one slice of warm sliced bread. Haddock and chips £18 small flat piece of fish in greasy batter. Fish pie £15 okay but more potato than fish with one tiny floret of over cooked broccoli, sweet potato and carrot and 2 small cubes of roast potato. I asked for a discount on the Mac and cheese and was offered £1.50. Eventually the manager deducted £2.50 from a £52 bill. Dreadful. After spending time in Lossie, Elgin and Inverness this was by far the worst meal anywhere. No apologies either.

Stayed here on numerous occasions on business trips and usually very good but this last stay was not so great , my room was far too hot so had to open the window and all I could hear was the kitchen extraction blowing , the television remote didn't work half the time and the shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold. Went for breakfast in the morning and now you don't eat in the restaurant you have to eat in the bar ! 4* hotel and you eat in the bar , not very comfortable, ordered a cooked breakfast with white toast . No black pudding or haggis or potato scone , just asked for sausage, bacon with scrambled eggs , mushroom, tomato and some beans. I got 1 extremely small slice of toast with the tiniest piece of butter, I rasher 1 sausage a tablespoon of scrambled egg 1 mushroom and half a tomato, it's the first time I have left hungry after breakfast, no marmalade or jam , it was pretty poor for the price of the hotel especially a 4* . I travel a lot in the area and must say it's the poorest breakfast I've had anywhere in Speyside.

We stayed at the Station Hotel for a night for our 10 year anniversary. We got upgraded to the master suite which we really appreicated - it was amazing! We had the 5 course menu which was really tasty and great value for money! The breakfast the next day was also fabulous. The chefs are obviously very good. Everything was cooked to perfection. The reception staff were really friendly and accomidating and we felt very much looked after. We were able to leave luggage before we checked in which we appreciated. The bar was also well stocked with amazing cocktails at great value. We will definetly be back and are talking about bringing family along next time too. We would 100% reccomend!!

Excellent Hotel & Staff. Caris, Hanna & Brodie were professional & fun. Excellent dining & whisky bar. Glenrothes innthe middle of Speyside. Lots of distilleries. Stayed in the Glenrothes Suite. Very accommodating, great bath room. Would stay again and suggest to anyone. Nice job, Station!

As usual I was working away and we chose the Station Hotel, despite its price bracket as there were not (as far as I could find) any other suitable hotels in the immediate area. Can’t fault the hotel or its accommodation itself, it’s clearly top notch. Modern fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and it was spotlessly clean in every single way. Coffee machine was difficult to operate on the first morning (a member of staff helped me) and on the second morning, it wouldn’t switch on at all. Could’ve been me, but as I’ve had similar coffee machines for the last 15 years, I doubt it. I was also surprised that at over £200 PP per night, there were no Scottish shortbread or biscuits in the room, or bottled water, which to me seemed to be a bit mean. We had breakfast booked for both nights, but I only went on the 2nd morning. My breakfast was seriously overcooked. Haggis was bone dry, bacon was burned and I needed to really ‘saw’ at the Scottish Scone to cut it. Even then it was inedible. It seemed to me that there were insufficient amounts of serving staff to deal with the guests. The lady who served me (god bless her) was jogging from the kitchen to the breakfast area! I also found out that my colleague received a ‘free dram’ on arrival at his room. I didn’t, not that matters much but you’d think each room/guest would be treated the same and that the service would be consistent. Can’t fault the staff whatsoever. Across the board pleasant, attentive and helpful. Some minor issues, that wouldn’t take a lot of effort to address.

We went for dinner on 16th July and received a very frosty reception and did not feel welcome at all. We enquired about dinner as non residents at 6pm and were told this was not possible until 8pm as the restaurant was busy however there were only 2 other tables present. We persuaded them on the basis of just ordering soup which we had in the nearly empty bistro. We were refused menus and had to ask for the bread that came with the small soup. We then went to the empty bar for a drink and received the same welcome. The waitress rolled her eyes, for the second time, at my friend when she was paying for the drinks. The whole atmosphere was very tense and I couldn’t wait to leave. I’ve never felt this awkward in a place before.

I went to whisky afternoon tea for Whisky Festival, the staff were amazing and so was the food. Ann was very welcoming and pleasant. I will be back for lunch or dinner. The hotel looks ok from the outside but when entering I had a pleasant surprise with the decor.
