Cadillac Kustomz Hotel Breakfast Included

This is the first time my husband and I have visited Bute, so we have no experience of any other hotels on the island. We booked for four nights at the Cadillac Kustomz, as I remembered seeing it on TV a few years ago, and it looked good. It's a little way out of Rothesay, so we were pleased to see that the website stated that they have a diner. When we arrived, late afternoon, I asked about dinner and was told that the dining room and bar were closed, as it was low season. A pity that wasn't stated on the website. However, we were informed that there were plenty of local restaurants in Rothesay. We really didn't want to go out again, having been travelling all day, but did not have a choice. We got online and had a look at restaurants serving dinner, but bearing in mind that this was a Monday evening, there were very few open. We spent some time ringing around, but either got no response to our calls, or not favourable responses. One of the main hotels, which said it did serve dinner, contradicted that when my husband spoke to them and they told him that they wouldn't be opening their dining room just for two people. In the end, we drove to the local Co-op, bought some snack food and ate that in our bedroom. Not a great start to our few days on Bute. The same happened on Tuesday evening, but on the remaining two nights, when a few more restaurants were open, we ate at Ambience, in Rothesay, which was quite basic, but really welcoming, with good food and very pleasant service. I must say that our bedroom at the Cadillac Kustomz was very nice, with a large bed and a beautiful view out to sea. The room was warm and immaculately clean, as was the bathroom and was serviced daily. Dressing gowns were supplied, as were plenty of clean towels. The price for Bed and Breakfast was very reasonable. Breakfast at the hotel was ok. We rarely saw the owners, apart from checking in. No one was around when we checked out. The gentleman who served breakfast always seemed in a hurry, but I am sure if we had any problems, someone would have been around to put them right.

We are just about to board the ferry after an amazing overnight stay in this hotel. We are globetrotters and this is the best!! So quirky and unique! Fab 50's diner, delicious food. Comfortable bedroom, fresh comfy bed, fantastic shower. Tea and coffee in room. Brilliant bar. I could go on all day but go see for yourself if you get the chance! Bravo Brody and family! Fantastic attention to detail in this quirky rockabilly diner and hotel makes you feel like you are in Alabama rather than Bute. Scrupulously clean and great value for money. Brodie and Co. go the extra mile to ensure your enjoyment, and the Saturday night entertainment is really really good. An experience - I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Extremely comfortable bed. Set in a beautiful location. It was a quiet area. Breakfast included gluten free choices. If you like Cadillacs you will love this place. We didn't eat an evening meal here but it was well organised and clean. It's a mile from ardbeg where the ferry is and lots of lovely eating places. Advise you book ahead if you're eating out

Great quirky, American Diner themed guest house in a great location overlooking the bay. Very very clean & well kept. Unfortunately the Diner / Bar areas were closed the evening we were there, but its still early in the Season- Start of April.. so I guess still not busy enough to warrant opening. We Unfortunately really struggled to find somewhere to eat out in the evening as lots of places listed online as closed, We eventually ate at the Esplanade Hotel, which although staff friendly, food was not the best, still filled a hole.

Our second stay here. Spotlessly clean. Proprietor and staff very welcoming. The view from our bedroom (Calais) was stunning with snow on the tops. Room and bathroom up to 5 star hotel standards, little touches like Tu nocks choc teacakes daily, hot chocolate and even soya milk, plus face flannels and make up removal flannels, and a bath mat in a net bag show that the team just go that bit further to enhance guest experience. The decor of the rooms diner and bar are great fun . Breakfast selection was great and cooked to order. Diner in the evening just what one would expect in an American themed venue. All in all a great experience.
