Rovaniemi Hotels with Wi-Fi

A unique hotel with great location in central (but quiet) location in Rovaniemi. The breakfast at the hotel is just amazing. Probably the best anywhere in Finland, just superb. Great variety of alternatives, fresh, tasty. Local specialities (such as clouberry jam, squeaky cheese, local bread), unbelievably variety of fruit, berries, cakes, etc. You name it. Have not seen anything like this is Finland before. I had a small loft room on top floor. Spotlessly clean, great bed, quiet, good amneties. Only small minus for carpet floor, laminate is always preferrable. But a great room with everything you need. And it was the smallest and cheapest in the hotel :-) The personnel is attentative and friendly. Parking easy and free-of-charge behind the hotel. If you arrive late and the parking space is full, there is a lot of places 50-80 metres away, by the round-about and the nearby streets. These are free-of charge between 18:00 in the evening and 8:00 in the morning. As a hotel, a super hotel. If you are on your way to Rovaniemi, forget all chain hotels and ”S” hotels - Arctic Light is the place to stay.

After reading the reviews and all the nice promises on their website, i had high hopes about this hôtel. How foolish was i?!? I wrote an email the week before our arrival to ask if an early checking at 2h instead of 4h could be possible as we had to prepare for our wedding. They’ve answered that they will ask the cleaning team to do the room first so we could enter it earlier. When we arrived there was no one available so we had to ring and wait for someone as it’s how this place work. The person who arrived 10 minutes later was really not nice nor polite. We felt like disturbing him when he told us that they never do early checking. When i told him i’ve sent an email about this 2 weeks before he said i was lying. Oh ok!?! As we had 2 hours to wait we’ve decided to use the safe locker room they are providing. There is only 10 lockers there. After 10 minutes of struggles to try to lock a locker with all our luggages inside, we had to go back upstair to ring the rude guy again. We’ve waited 10 minutes again for him. When he arrived he told us that the lockers were broken and unusable. No sign to tell us that or nothing, just figure this out yourself when he knew it was broken! There is only two seats in the entrance and there were already 4 people waiting there with their luggage. I asked him what we were then supposed to do and he told us to just leave all our stuff unattended and unlocked there, with everybody able to go through them. I asked him if he was serious and he told me ”if you don’t trust us you can leave with your luggage!” I told him that i don’t know him and with some reviews already talking about stolen stuff in the hôtel you can understand why! He was very rude so i told him i was going to film him and that’s when he said i could leave our stuff in our room while it was being cleaned. We’ve decided to do this and whild doing it we’ve met the cleaning team. Honestly they should be the ones dealing with guests while the rude guy should be left far from any hospitality job where you interact with humans! They told us nobody told them we’ve asked for early checking otherwise they would have done our room first, especially if we wrote an email way earlier to ask for this. Probably the rude guy who forgot how to do his job again! After all that we only had 30 minutes to wait LOL When entering the room, we’ve realised that the fire place is fake. If you wait for the heat or flames of a real fire place you’la be sadly disapointed. Just a fake very light colored ”flame”. The bathroom is one foot away from the bed and the toilets are in it with the shower and sink. There is just a small wall separating between your pillow and the toilet. Wonder why we don’t see this on their website??? The room is advertised as a room ”with view”. If a view on street work and an old building is ”a view” then this is true. My daughter and I had a great summer at Santa Claus Holiday Village. She described it as ”the most magical place” she has ever been in. Even though a lot of things were closed due to the low seasons, the staff's service and friendliness made up everything. Thank you!

We are a family of 5 and booked 2 family rooms in this hotel. The rooms were big, compared to another Rovaniemi hotel that we stayed in and the amenities were wonderful. Free use of Sauna, 24hr gym, just located directed opposite the supermarket and most of all, the hotel has a microwave that you can heat up the food brought from the supermarket! What a deal!. Some areas for improvement, it would good if the Sauna can be 24hrs instead of closing at 10pm. If the hotel can provide utensils like spoon and fork it will be even more awesome. Overall our best stay in Rovaniemi for the price point, I think its a steal. Oh BTW, Burger King and McDonald is just opposite and 24hrs too.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the centre, it's a basic hotel which is clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast is more continental with 3 hot item available. The only downside to the hotel is their is no safe in the rooms so had to carry all personal items laptop, money, passport etc around with me all the time. The hotel did offer to put item in their own safe but decided against it. It didn't put me off staying here again and would return.

The hotel is located on the mountain east of the city. The environment is very quiet. It overlooks the Kemi River. The hotel is well decorated and feels very petty. The hotel has a rooftop, which is suitable for driving the aurora. There is a ski resort next to it. Convenient. If you rent ski equipment, you still need to go down to the mountain. The hotel’s breakfast is exquisite. I also had reindeer liver sauce. The hotel’s restaurant requires advance reservations and the dishes are very good. The disadvantage of the hotel is that the location is relatively remote, it is not convenient if it is not for self-driving. Extra bed and breakfast for children will be charged 35 Euros. The hotel does not provide slippers and toothbrushes.

Firstly, we booked this hotel through TUI. I would never use TUI again for a holiday, they were unprofessional and there was a real lack of their presence at the hotel. We travelled in a group for the Santa break and the room situation in that there is a maximum of three occupants didn’t work for us and this is where I felt cheated by TUI as it was presented as a family hotel. However, this review is based solely on the hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location and the breakfast was amazing. Dinner is on a similar level to all other hotels in the area and, as someone who has travelled to Lapland previously, it is very different from the UK anywhere you go in Lapland so don’t read too much into the reviews that say the food is terrible and awful, it’s not, it’s just very different from the UK. The hotel staff are welcoming and friendly, they will do what ever they can to accommodate help accommodate you and were overall lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel to couples or small families.

The front desk of the hotel is very friendly. The environment and facilities are very good. It is close to the street and is very convenient. There is a bus to Santa Claus Village near the hotel. It is very convenient. The hotel's breakfast is very rich. Highly recommended.

Just right near the bus stop from Rovaniemi train station. Able to checkin only after 1500. Luggage store provided. Family room is good for 3 pax. Assigned at the new building with brand new room (Stay Dec 2022). Room condition superb Clean. Not much room amenities. Ssfety box not working. Housekeeping assisted to setup extrabed. Very efficient. Near to the shopping centre. Few chinese/Asian restaurant. The fast food restaurants around the corner. River cannot be crossed and the view was great during sun rise. Overall bed, shower room was great. Breakfast was great too. Local spread of food. Staff helpful and good service in English. Recommended hotel to stay!

I stayed at the hotel for a few days during my trip to Rovaniemi. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful in particular Riko who assisted with the heating in my room. He had to bring me a portable electric heater because the central heating was not working properly and I really appreciate his assistance. The cleaners were all friendly and helpful and happy to clean the room only when it is convenient for you. I also like the security where after hours you will need your room key to access the hotel. The only small problem is there is no fridge in the room only a cooling box. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel for your stay in Rovaniemi. The location is great and close to shops and restaurants too.
