I made the booking back in March for a one-night stay over the King's Birthday long weekend. When we arrived, we were told that check-in was just about to close at 5PM. Luckily, Pete, the accommodation manager, kindly stayed back to help us check in, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, our booking through Trip.com clearly stated a King-sized bed in a non-smoking room, but their records showed two single beds in a smoking area. Pete offered to either help push the single beds together or suggested we could request a cancellation through Trip.com. Since Trip.com had a strict no-refund policy and we had nowhere else to stay, we had no choice but to stay. My partner ended up helping Pete push the beds together and make the bed, which, while appreciated, really shouldn’t have been necessary. Later that night, we found the kettle was greasy with brown residue, and the mugs and glasses had visible lipstick and coffee stains... We had to clean everything ourselves using hand soap and ended up buying wine vinegar just to clean the kettle so we could have a warm drink in the freezing weather... While Pete was friendly and did his best to assist, the stay was disappointing overall. Cleanliness was well below bare minimum, and the booking mix-up added stress to what was meant to be a relaxing night away. I hope they lift their hygiene practices and improve how bookings are managed to prevent this happening to others.

1) The equipment is relatively simple. There is only 1 towel for 2 people. I don’t know whether it provides towels or not. There is a hot water kettle and a relatively small bar (charged) 2) Check in at 5pm (still 6pm) and the front desk will get off work. The hotel left a message with Ctrip customer service and got the gate password and hotel room number. That night, I had a flat tire on the way to the hotel. It was already past 12 o'clock on a rainy night, and it was a bit difficult to find accommodation in the golf course. Fortunately there is a message 3) The environment is comfortable, and many elderly people play golf in the morning. It is not recommended for those traveling on the Great Ocean Road. If you have plenty of time, you can consider it. The surrounding environment is suitable for staying and resting. 4) Toiletries are all provided (slippers, toothpaste and toothbrushes are all provided, which should be the same in Australian hotels)

Absolutely horrible experience, do not stay there. We had a malfunctioning AC in our room, leaving us without heating during a 5 degree night. There's no staff or security at the hotel during the night, so we were left on our own. Called security but were pretty much told to wait until morning. It completely ruined our holiday and got us both sick. The management refused to rectify the issue, offering a laughable discount for future stays. They ignored our subsequent messages and never got back to us. Says a lot about them. Stay away from this place. There's nothing luxury about it.

We were left without any form of heating for the night and were told to make do - it was 5 degrees at night. Tried calling their after hours line: took 4 calls to get through the first time, after some back and forth calls where they said to just make do in the 5 degree cold, we were told that they’ll try to contact hotel’s management, never called us back, never picked up again. We couldn’t sleep and couldn’t shower because of the cold and spent most of the night trying to reach someone with no luck. I read reviews at this point and found out that this is a recurring problem at the hotel. We packed up our bags and informed the golf club reception about the situation who obviously couldn’t help, we didn’t hear anything from the hotel and when we followed up they haven’t responded (also haven't responded to my partner). The absence of heating aside, the space was decent for a place to crash but definitely didn’t match its price point: The place could be cleaner, especially the balcony which was covered in a layer of dust and bird poo. The windows are very dirty ruining any view from the room you might have. WiFi was extremely poor, okay for documents but barely loads anything else. The breakfast incurred extra charges even though it was included in our booking. Amenities are lacking, coffee station not restocked, no robes or slippers etc, very overpriced minibar. You can’t reach anyone after sundown and finding an alternative place to stay in our case proved to be very difficult. Customer service based on my experience is extremely lacking.

Heading to an event nearby needed 2 nights accommodation. All I can say is fantastic & I have no interest in golf! The team - fantastic! Accommodation - fantastic! Highly recommend. And tranquil plus a very pleasant beverage in the bar! Check it out!

I was so impressed with the quality of the accomodation and the comfort. We shared a two bedroom unit and it was great to have the lounge area to catch up and have coffee and drinks and the privacy of our own bathroom which is very modern and luxurious. We had 6 couples and stayed for 4 nights and were able to catch up for drinks before we went out in one of the lounge rooms. We also arranged a cook yourself BBQ one night at the golf function cntre and it was amazing. Very generous amount of meat and 3 salads between the 12 of us and there was a lot left over. We had breakfast included in our stay and we had that at the golf clubhouse which was very filling. PS we were not there for golf as most of the friends do not play golf but 4 of us played 9 holes one afternoon. Staff at clubhouse and lodge service were very friendly. My wife and I will definitely stay there next time we play golf in the Mornington.
