Had a lovely few days at Hedgefield House visiting friends in the area. Checkin was super quick and friendly, and my room was lovely and spacious with a nice view into the courtyard. The area itself is pleasant and there are a few walkable places to get food and drink. The property is also super clean, and nice & airy. Whilst it wasn’t a problem for me, the bathroom for the room I stayed in wasn’t attached to the room but was across a corridor.

Had a lovely overnight stop here whilst dropping my niece off at Durham Uni. Hedgefield House is stunning inside and out, such a shame we were only here for a quick stop off. David was so helpful and friendly and everything we needed was provided. I had the best nights sleep I've had in a very long time. We would definitely revisit and highly recommend

Wow....what a wonderful find. We stayed here on our way back from Scotland, before finishing our journey back to Wales. A beautiful building steeped in history set on beautiful grounds. We were in Rooms 2, 3 and 5...and all of us were blown away by the decor, style and size of each room...stunning. We knew we were not going to make the 9.30pm check in, and when we called with our eta, the Manager was understanding, helpful and assured us that to be no problem. His welcome was warm and friendly. Super comfy beds...the perfect stop gap to break up our long journey. We have already decided to visit again on the future, and will be booking direct for a better deal. Thank you for your hospitality

I have used this lovely little place several times, I live out of the area but stay regularly to help with early morning appointments for my dad. David is a lovely host always quick responding to email enquiries, the rooms are comfy, well stocked and most of all very clean. Forgot the big hotels, choose this beautiful house in lovely grounds set back from the busy road and enjoy a peaceful night in comfy surroundings.

I stayed for 4 nights and found staying at the Hedgefield to be a very pleasureble experience . Very comfortable, spotlessly clean, very quiet, lovely gardens, comfortable beds. In a perfect location a real little hidden gem, close by you had a restaurant, a little further walk you had a pub that also sold food, you could even walk to the local shops. Car not necessary, bus stop right outside to visit Metrocentre and Newcastle centre. Owner David was on hand if you needed anything. I certainly have no hesiatation in recommending the Hedgefield and will be returning with my wife for a chilled break.

Spent a weekend at this outstanding hotel, on arrival was greeted by David who kindly showed us to our room, which was well; spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, has all you need for your stay including a large flat screen TV. I must say I personally think the hotel could charge more for the standard of the rooms

We stayed here while attending a wedding at the Restaurant next door. It is a beautifully put together guest house with quirky features that I loved. Our room was very comfortable with a large bathtub in the bathroom and separate dressing room. The gardens are exceptional. David was so welcoming on arrival. I will definitely stay here again so I get to enjoy it more when I'm not out at a wedding. There is no food served but the Restaurant next door offers plenty of choice and there's lots within distance. Loved our stay. Will definitely return!
