Meadowood is beautiful and the on-site staff is excellent. There was one issue that is big at any price point and a couple issues that are only a problem at this price point. Big issue: We booked a room with a $750 on-site credit, which we were denied at checkout. I reviewed the booking process and found a clear bait and switch (at best) or they simply chose not to honor our credit for some reason. I assumed I must have made an error, but I can't see how as I have repeated the process to test. I also can't get a requested call back to discuss the issue. This is very upsetting and feels like an intentionally misleading action by the booking team, who cleverly are not on-site. Small issues: It rained a little bit the night before we had a tennis reservation. When we went to check in, we were told they don't recommend playing if the court is wet. It only rained a bit, so we figured it was worth a try. The courts could easily have been squeegeed off in about ~5 mins per court, especially since we had a reservation. Not a big issue, but for well over a grand / night, I'd expect more. The food at Forum is not good. The service is friendly but bad. We ate there twice. The food was all under-seasoned. Everyone working was nice, but service was slow and sporadic both times -- oddly even worse at the bar. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are lovely, and the staff is very nice. Our trip was tainted by an unexpected $1000 bill at check out with no attempts at resolution followed by another disappointing meal on-site. Not worth it in its current state.
