The Westin St. Louis

The room was amazingly decorated, clean, and stocked, and the front desk lady was very kind and helpful. I was a bit spooked walking around after driving all day from my car to the hotel with my belongings as a single female traveler since there was a huge party going on at the bar caddy-corner of the hotel, but I did realize that it was Friday night at 10 p.m. on Fourth of July, so that made sense. To help manage this, I appreciated the fact that there was security around the parking lot and that bar, and that there is a straight-forward pathway from the lot to the hotel front entrance. Again, the front desk lady helped me locate the lot, the gym, and even walked me to the gym, and I wish I knew her name to recognize her properly. Overall, it was a nice stay which held up to my expecations, and I only wish I could have stayed a bit longer than one night to explore the area more.

It was amazing and a great place to stay

This was my 2nd stay here. Love the location and staff. Rooms are very clean and spacious.

It was our first stay at the Westin in St Louis, we were going to baseball games Busch. We arrived at 4:15 to check in and were told the room wasn’t ready and had to wait in the lobby until 5:00. That has never happened to me before staying at other properties and we’ve been to many games over the weekend in St Louis. There were lots of others waiting as well. We were told to pull into a valet spot when we arrived. While we were waiting for our room, someone called out our vehicle. I raised my hand, someone came and took my key from me without giving me a ticket and told me to get a ticket when I checked in. I understand they were very busy, but this was not a great experience all around. The room was amazing and clean with a great view, but waiting for a room after check in time was incredibly frustrating. We normally arrive a little before check in time at other places and get in right away. I thought they could’ve at least offered a free drink at the bar while we waited. Upon leaving, the valet was very helpful and walked us the couple of blocks to our car and carried some luggage. It was right after the game so there was a lot of traffic. He said he would walk us there because it was going to be at least 30 minutes before he could actually bring the car to us.

We have stayed here before and had the same delayed check-in experience. The lobby is full of guests waiting for a room an hour or more past check in time of 4pm. People have plans, cranky kids, need to change etc and this is unacceptable. Many properties have adapted the “no daily room service unless requested” policy. Maybe this is part of the solution to prioritize the rooms for guests checking in at 4. Check in staff very apologetic but doesn’t change the issue. There are many many hotels without this issue and they need to figure it out! We will choose a different hotel to avoid the chaos.

You can’t beat the location right across the street from Busch Stadium. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. We parked in the parking garage across the street ourselves and it was $30 overnight. The hotel was relatively quiet inside, but there was lots of outside car noise, so don’t stay here if you want peace and quiet. We were disappointed at check in. The entire reason for our visit was the Cardinals/Braves game. We tried checking in right at 4pm, but our room wasn’t ready until after 5:00. This caused us to miss possible interaction with the Braves players and autographs. My kids were super bummed. The hotel needs to do better with having rooms ready on time, even if they need to hire more staff. I feel like we should have been offered a partial refund, but none of the staff seemed to care about our experience. I’m very disappointed with the entire experience at the Westin. Not sure I’ll ever stay at another one again unless someone reaches out and makes it right.
