Colourfully refurb'd/decorated traditionally-styled main family home of an up-and-coming wine maker. Our room was very warm, comfortable and had elegant bathroom facilities. The characterful chateau caters to a wide range of guests’ desires, with rooms that have been robustly renovated and are well appointed with all amenities you could reasonably want. As a package, this home base presents several options either to adventure around the St.Emilion/Pomerol region and sample so many excellent wineries plus local restaurants (in nearby Libourne) OR to spend quiet, contemplative time, relaxing in the lounge before a warm open fire. The family provide enthusiastic and dedicated hosting with clear experience in hospitality. Supremely accommodating and as an outstandingly obliging host, Clement was our main contact who maintained great communications. Nothing was too much trouble. He included a [free] wine tasting tour of their onsite production facilities, plus supplied helpful guidance about worthwhile vineyard alternatives to visit in the area. And, yes, their Clos Saint Michel Canon Fronsac wine is well-rated, and was delicious enough for us to buy several bottles. In-house dinner was available, but we already had reservations elsewhere. Very pleasant breakfast provided (even for our v.early departure). Such was the warmth and inclusive welcome of Clement, all guests felt able to get along so well. OVERALL, a highly positive visit. Great value hospitality for St.Émilion/Fronsac area.

Do not stay here… I arrived past the check in time and was not given my room. Actually no one answered me and I had to book another hotel. I requested a refund, because I hadn’t received the services I paid for (ie. the room) and the hotel declined me, saying arriving past the check-in time was a violation of our contract. Other B and Bs in the area are incredibly accommodating and understand that when you’re traveling things happen and you might be late to the check in. It’s simply unacceptable for a hotel accepting international guests to have such a strict check-in policy and leave guests stranded late at night in a foreign country

After visiting the St Emilion region during the day our group of six checked into La Closerie de Fronsac for the evening. We requested dinner the morning of our stay and were treated to a beautiful home cooked meal, great hospitality and delicious wine followed by a wonderful breakfast the next morning. Rooms were clean, comfortable and charming. Clement was a fantastic host, always ensuring we had everything we needed. We even purchased a box of wine to accompany our travels. Would highly recommend this authentic experience.

What a wonderful experience! Of course inspite of our GPS, we got lost, but when we drove up to this magical place we were thrilled. Situated in the middle of breathtaking vineyards, we entered the beautiful gates & the owner/chef/decorator & winemaker, Clement, greeted us with such warmth. We felt we had known him for years. A young entrepreneur, he is fascinating to talk to and so very nice. The place is decorated in some of the finest, most interesting antiques. It appears he too loves brocantes & he was kind enough to tell us where to find some. First night Clement gives us a tour of his winery & was very informative & knowledgeable. His wine by the way is delicious. He suggests dinner at a place in Libourne which is about 20 min away…very good. But the highlight was the next night when Clement cooked for us. There were 4 other couples, but instead of all of us sitting together, he sat each couple at tables situated privately in sections of his garden. It was so truly romantic. He prepared a French Basque chicken that had piquant seasoning. It was done to perfection. Pasta with orange & thyme & a ratatouille of veggies with Basque seasoning. A cheese plate that looked like an artist palette…5 different cheeses each having a condiment of either fruit or walnuts. Dessert was a small bowl of tiny, various chocolates. All served with his lovely wines. One of the best dinners in our month long trip. Breakfast was amazing & diversified. Clement prepared eggs as well if you so desired besides the fresh sweets, croissants & cheeses. The view from our room of his vineyards was breathtaking as was the room itself. So many lovely antiques. The bathroom modernized tastefully. Huge shower & so very clean. Very quiet & peaceful surroundings. No TV, thank you Clement. We highly recommend!!

This was a special spot in the heart of the Fronsac appellation. A great old house, very carefully outfitted with period furniture and art with a welcoming attitude to all who enter. Breakfast was beautifully served. Wine tasting of their wines can be arranged.

We stayed at La Closerie de Fronsac for one night but we wished it would have been more. The chateau is beautiful, filled with gorgeous antiquities. The estate is amazing, in the middle of lush vineyards. The host, Clément, is really helpful and friendly. He gave us some tips of where to go in the area, which made for the perfect afternoon itinerary (the beautiful village of Saint Émillion nearby). When we came back, Clément gave us a tour of the wine cellar and let us taste some of the delicious self-produced wines. In the evening, we enjoyed an amazing, home-cooked dinner outside, which was the best ever! The room was super comfy and clean too, with everything you need for a good night’s rest. The breakfast the next day was super delicious as well! It was our dream of staying on a vineyard and staying at La Closerie de Fronsac went above our expectations! Thank you so much Clément!

We had a pleasant stay at La Closerie de Fronsac. A comfortable room and a delicious breakfast. Our host, Clément, showed us around his winery and gave us some very interesting explanations. It was a wonderful introduction to the art of winemaking. He was very generous in booking vineyard visits for us, including one classified as a Grand Cru. He helped us plan our day to maximize our time in the region. The restaurant recommendations were also greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this accommodation.
