We were taking a leisurely trip down to the Dordogne so chose this as our first stop, as it’s only a few hours from Calais, and not far from the beautiful village of Gerberoy which we wanted to visit. Fantastic location by a river and with a working watermill in situ ( although not actively in operation on our visit unfortunately ) and some wonderful grounds. Room was typical of a basic “Logis” hotel, comfortable with everything that we needed, including some views of the countryside. TIP: If you’re a light sleeper, some rooms face the direction of the railway line which runs close to the hotel. Whilst it didn’t bother us, there is some noise through the night. Restaurant was great with a decent selection of “formules” ( set menus ), and a decent wine list to match. Service was of the typical French efficiency. Breakfast was typical French style, the basics ( croissants etc ) with some ham, cheese and yoghurts as well. All in all we paid about £180 for DBB for the 2 of us which we thought was pretty reasonable, as this including drinks as well.

The employers allow themselves to be disrespectful to their employees when they think no one is listening. The woman in charge disregarded every one of our questions about the meal and left huffing and puffing in french every time she turned her back on us leaving the table. Very concerning. We think she might have been drunk. Make yourself a favor and skip this place on your trip through this beautiful region.

As we intended to visit Gerberoy, we searched for a hotel close by. And this one, being 25 minutes drive away sounded perfect. Located in the middle of fields on the bank of a river. We stayed 2 nights and dined each night in a glass enclosed area between the river and the mill. We had a carafe of chilled white wine while we browsed the menu. Dishes we tried varied from salad gourmand and terrine du chef to porc mignon with morels and scallops with prawns. Although it was very busy,we were well looked after by the young staff. And everything was accompanied by wine from a varied and well priced wine list.It was all very well cooked and presented. Our bedroom and bathroom were simple, clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful.We loved our stay here and hope to return. '

Catastrophique ! Notre table pour 5 personnes, réservée plusieurs semaines à l'avance a été attribuée à d'autres personnes avant l'heure de notre arrivée.... Aucune excuse ! Pas d'accueil ! L'impression de déranger.... On nous a assemblé une table dans un coin où la serveuse nous bousculait à chaque passage. Elle aussi nous l'ennuyions... Elle nous a clairement dit qu'elle attendait sa pause cigarette avec impatience.... Repas correct mais tellement déçus de l'accueil, du manque d'amabilité et du service que nous n'y retournerons plus. Le patron nous a ouvertement dit que cet endroit était à vendre et qu'il en avait ras le bol !!!!!!!...... Ça vous plante le décor... Pas 1 malheureux café offert ni même un mot d'excuse... Nous qui travaillons la plupart dans le commerce avons été outré. Dommage le site est très sympa et pourrait être un lieu merveilleux si tenu par des professionnels !....

C'était la deuxiéme fois que nous nous arrétions au Moulin des Forges .et toujours aussi ravis de notre séjour . Endroit trés agréable et convivial , une propreté irréprochable , repas et petit déjeuner parfaits . Et que dire de Valérie et Yves Loup pour leur acceuil chaleureux . Merci à eux pour ces moments si agréables passé ensemble. Un couple bien sympathique amoureux des animaux . Il y aura surement une troisiéme fois .Je recommande sans hésitation

Nous avons été très bien reçu pour cette 2ème visite .Le lieu est calme et Valérie est une personne agréable et sympathique .Merci pour le bon repas et que dire du petit déjeuner avec les bonnes brioches maison ! Quand au confort de la chambre tout est parfait . Nous reviendrons sans hésiter .

Endroit choisi au hasard des recherches dans la région de la Mayenne. et quel excellent choix. Nous sommes tombés sur des gens au coeur généreux. Leur accueil et leur convivialité sont exceptionnels. Le cadre parfait, le confort et la propreté irréprochable, la table d'hôte et le petit déjeuner à tomber. Pour les amoureux de l'authentique et de la nature c'est l'adresse conforme à toutes les attentes

Notre coup de cœur ! Nous allons régulièrement dans des maisons d’hôtes mais aucune ne rassemble à celle-ci....L’accueil magnifique comme si nous étions des amis ou des membres de la famille....la famille est présente mais quoi de plus normal pour une maison d’hôtes ? Valérie a pris le temps de nous présenter tous ses animaux, un grand merci pour ce moment.
