Nightmare holiday in Pugin-Wing 21 We arrived late as the ferry was delayed. The apartment complex is only a few minutes away from the ferry dock. That is positive. But then it already ends. The lady of the house greeted us in a friendly manner and took us to the flat. Already in the entrance we were greeted by an unpleasant smell, which came from a fragrance diffuser plugged into the socket in the hallway. She briefly showed us the folder with the things that were important and left us alone. Shortly after clearing it out, I had my first asthma attack. My lungs felt constricted and I had no air to breathe. We unplugged the atomiser for the time being. Most of the carpets were dirty and stained from previous occupants (see pictures). Especially in the bedrooms the ventilation situation is bad. In the children's bedroom there were two small skylights that could only be opened by a long bar. The frames of the windows were totally mouldy. Obviously water damage from previous years. The furniture in the rooms was sticky. The bedding was made of cheap polyester. After just one hour in bed, we were itching all over. I had to take my emergency spray for my asthma several times during the night and felt more than bad. Anyone who has ever been unable to breathe knows this feeling. After a long night of waking, we tried to make breakfast in the morning. 4 plates, three of them were dirty, 4 cups, 4 of them were also dirty, disgusting pots and pans, which were not washed and the traces of the previous ones could be seen here as well. Wet stains in the cupboard. All in all, an unacceptable condition for us, above all my health took precedence here. We went to the neighbouring hotel and described our situation. The reception manager Nelly immediately offered us help and made everything possible so that we could have a nice last week's holiday. As the Albany self-catering reception was not manned on Sunday morning, we left our keys in a bowl in the entrance hall. A query by the manager Tracey unfortunately resulted in no concession for us. A lack of understanding for my situation, she being allergic and asthmatic herself and having no problems there, was the last straw for me. Admittedly, we did not want to offer any possibility of rectification. For us, the circumstances were unacceptable. We did not receive a credit note, not even for one day. We can only warn everyone about this. Nothing here really corresponds to a four-star standard. It's a pity for so little humanity.
