Moxy St. Petersburg Downtown

This is more a bar with rooms than a hotel with a bar. Rooftop bar is very loud into the wee hours, so don’t expect a good nights sleep. I was surprised to see a hotel guest elevator set up with stanchions, ropes and a bouncer at elevator door for exclusive access to rooftop bar, mostly for non hotel guests. Came back from dinner and thought I had mistakenly entered a club! Downstairs bar invites people off street and was quite active….felt like a meat market vibe. Have to valet at $35/day only to discover on weekend nights hotel guests car gets moved off site for bar visitors to park close. NOT COOL! King Rooms very small, about a foot between wall and bed. No chair, so have to sit on bed. Lots of butts and feet on those bedspreads that don’t get washed after each guest.🤮. Pay premium got balcony not knowing view is of parking lot. No frig, microwave, or in-room coffee. I don’t do in-room coffee, but am used to lobby coffee. You can buy a $5/cup but at $450/night a complimentary coffee was expected. Cleanliness is questionable as balcony had cigarette butts and food scrapes. Great location and front desk staff nice. It’s a hip place to stay in a great location but more for young party people than someone looking for a good nights rest.

Mackenzie was the best! She was super knowledgeable and friendly checking us in. Her customer service was 10/10! The Moxy hotel is such a vibe. Their food and drink menu downstairs at the Sparrow was great, plus they’re open until 11 pm. We will definitely be back.

What a cool concept hotel by Marriott! After missing a cruise with my friends, I decided to head solo to St. Pete and was looking for a vacation vibe. This was IT! The hospitality was beyond expectations (and that’s saying a lot as that’s always my experience with Marriott properties). The staff ensured that I had an amazing solo vacation and made the Moxy feel like home. The lobby bar is a destination in and of itself- I would have hung out there even if I weren’t staying on property. Eric and Brad (I’m sure I am misremembering his name so hope he still gets props!)) mixed the perfect craft cocktails and gladly went off menu to make sure they were exactly what I was looking for. I saved the best for last… Diego at the desk. He truly showed empathy for my situation. He gave me a wonderful room with a balcony and helped out with food and drink expenses. His joke was that I “still had a somewhat all inclusive vacation!” He really turned around a disappointing situation and I left feeling so much gratitude for him and the Moxy. I’ll never steer away from Bonvoy. Corporate- please keep hiring amazing humans like Diego! Side note: Don’t miss the rooftop pool or the quaint coffee bar! THANK YOU for the most wonderful stay.

This hotel is charming and well-situated. I appreciate the vibrant colors and the trendy furniture in the lobby, which features board games and upbeat music. 1. PARKING: Be mindful. This area can get busy, so consider dropping off your belongings, checking in, and then finding parking. Unfortunately, the parking situation is quite challenging. After a 3.5-hour drive from Jacksonville, I contemplated valet parking. However, I realized self-parking makes more sense since you'll likely be in and out of the hotel exploring dining and activities. Though valet has a base fee, each time you retrieve your car, you'll need to tip (please be considerate and tip appropriately!). I really don't want to incur extra parking costs before even enjoying the hotel amenities. If there had been a nearby city or public parking lot, that would have been preferable. Despite the valet’s reluctance to direct us to self-parking, we eventually discovered it. There were no clear markings or signs indicating it was associated with the hotel. Fortunately, we secured the last spot since we checked in late in the day. Thank goodness for that! 2. Arrival: The check-in experience was delightful. Arriving in the evening meant the rooftop bar was just beginning its evening service with food and music. The hotel has a separate line and elevator for guests, a detail I appreciate for enhancing guest experience and minimizing crowd mingling. 3. OUR ROOM: I booked the top-tier room featuring a King Bed with a Balcony. To my surprise, it was pretty small. There was no fridge, the pillows were uncomfortable, and the bed felt flat and lackluster. We were warned about the music from the rooftop near our room, which was accurate. The bathroom was decent, and I loved the stylish fixtures. We brought our own bathroom soaps, but the hotel soap took ages to rinse off my hands. The balcony overlooked the parking lot, which makes paying extra for that view questionable; it also made the room feel smaller. Upon returning from the balcony, I noticed a stain resembling blood, which was unsettling. The room offered a small desk and a tiny space for your phone and alarm clock, while clothing drawers were located beneath the bed. It’s a platform bed design with drawers and luggage space underneath, which I found a bit peculiar and cramped. If bending over isn't your thing, this setup might be bothersome, but I thought it was manageable. Overall, the room felt somewhat cramped. 4. POOL: The rooftop pool area is beautiful; it’s destined to be a popular summer spot on Central Ave. However, the daybeds seemed a little worn and could use some cleaning, especially where heads rest on the furniture. The pool itself is charming! It's unfortunate, given that the hotel has recently opened, emphasizing the importance of maintenance. 5. COFFEE: In the morning, when we went for coffee, the staff at the coffee shop lacked good customer service. For example, as I pulled out cash to tip while ordering, the cashie

Had a great service at the bar area. Heleena was amazing! We were here for the Super Bowl and she was so kind and helpful. It was a cool vibe and the wings were great! They should add them to the menu permanently. Great service, and atmosphere 10/10

Great location! Indoor/outdoor bar Helena was a fantastic bartender. Will definitely be back! We had drinks and food for the Super Bowl.It was our first time at this moxy location. We have stay at the moxy location in New York all the time and are excited to have a st.pete location now!
