This hotel is quite well situated. You actually feel like you are in the country yet the M25 is right next door! We slept well. Couldn’t hear the motorway. Windows were closed though. The access road to the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. If you have a tractor that would be the best vehicle to negotiate this piece of road. Parking is very good though. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel was clean and tidy. The only downside was the pub/restaurant. Staff, food and drink all nice enough. It’s just closed so often and they don’t seem to liase with the hotel as to when they are and are not opening! Apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

Most of the problems with our stay were caused by the adjacent Beefeater, who despite being the only nearby restaurant, is blocking bookings from hotel guests, so we couldn't get a meal or a drink. However there were also problems with the hotel. The first thing we noticed was the room smelling of damp. The next thing was the TV didn't work. The receptionist did her best to help us with the restaurant and found us another room but she was unable to issue us a key card. We stay at Premier Inns a lot to break up long journeys and rely on consistent quality but this time we have been very let down. We will not be returning to this one.

Comfort double and single beds, but the pullout bed was like a plank. We ate at the Beefeater next door for our evening meal and breakfast. Food was average but the service was shocking on both visits. Only one waitress who was also helping in the kitchen and the same situation for breakfast. It took hours to get served! Coffee machine empty, no plates, no cutlery no pancakes, ran out of bread. Woefully understaffed. The two ladies on both shifts worked really hard but just couldn't cope with it all. Not their fault at all, just very poor management.

Great food. Kay did a sterling job in a very busy evening!:)The food was excellent and the environment within a preserved water mill was a real treat. The weather was poor but the meal and atmosphere was very good. I will visit again and also in a good location

Friendly warm welcome from reception team. Bed comfortable and clean. Although there were a few cobwebs spotted around the room. Other than that room clean and comfortable. Poor sleep however due to people above moving about overnight, could literally hear every footstep and the ceiling creaking, very annoying and was cause for a disrupted nights sleep! Ate at the beefeater. Lovely old building with a lot of history. However it is clearly far from being looked after, all the plaster coming off the wall where people chairs have been bashing it when sitting at the table etc. Needs a bit of TLC in my opinion. Also got the meal deal, VERY limited options meals wise as apparently they were having issues with their supplier. When food arrived, very small portions. Wouldn't be eating there again for evening meal if we stayed again. Breakfast was OK. Again very limited choice due to supply issues. Staff didn't seem to top things up as quickly as they should. So guests constantly asking for things such as apple juice, coffee machine to be topped up, bread for toaster etc. Premier inn is in a nice secluded spot, so nice and quiet away from traffic. However the land around it could do with a.bit of a tidy up, there seemed to be machinery and metal fencing dumped round and about which ruined the rural feel. All in all friendly stay. But rooms need sound proofing desperately. And I can imagine it getting hot in summer with no air con.

lovely welcoming and clean hotel in a great setting. Car park was small, but was able to find a space. Easy reach of St Alban's for pubs and restaurants. I would recommend staying here rather than the in the city centre. Could be for small breaks around Hertfordshire.

The hotel is lovely and clean, all the staff where amazing and made the familys stay really good. The man at night was really helpful and gave us really good tips on where to go during the day/night. The team at the restaurant where really good as well.

The hotel was down a dark lane with a bumpy road, nevertheless it was easy to find, although as I arrived late and the hotel was fully booked the front car park was full, although having a small car I was able to squeeze in near the bushes, the car park lighting wasn't brilliant but sufficient. The receptionist was very nice and I was allocated a ground floor room as requested. The room was immaculate, and the bed was well made and clean, and the bathroom was spotless too, I never find beds that suit me to be honest as I do like a soft mattress but saying that although the bed was firmish it was ok. I stayed last time I came to area in the Borehamwood branch and the Bricket Wood branch was a much better stay as it was quieter, and very clean. I would definitely stay at this Premier Inn on my next vist in the New Year, 10/10 for a budget price.
