Well where to start, we were met by friendly and helpful staff who showed us to our room, room 5 which was stunning with beautiful wooden beams and decor and a lovely soaker bath in the the room which gave it an traditional luxury feel, the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious I had a full English and the wife pastries and cereal which was freshly made for her. The lovely young lady serving us was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we were catered for and made us feel special and really topped off a wonderful stay.

We had booked to stay the weekend and were very much looking forward to it. As we had booked only a few days before we weren't too worried about the no-refunds policy. However the day after booking my husband suddenly came down with a serious illness. I contacted the hotel straight away, attaching a screenshot of his NHS app as proof, and although I appreciated we wouldn't get a refund I was hoping that they might change the dates for us. We were completely flexible about coming any other weekend and even offered some weekdays that we could do when they were most likely to have vacancies. We had planned to eat in the restaurant both nights, so if they had an empty room even at last minute when we could stay, they would only have profitted from our restaurant costs, but they were not interested, completely inflexible and refused to modify our booking. I would have loved to stay at this hotel but the whole experience has left such a bad taste in our mouths that I could not in good conscience ever book to stay there again. Family and friends were shocked that they were so unsympathetic. In this day and age I find this a very old-fashioned way of doing things.

Nice clean room, comfy beds bit noisy with the road but ear plugs supplied. I brought my own. Evening meal was lovely, big portions. Staff very attentive. Breakfast 8-10am 3 tables of 2 were at breakfast us included, service slow, 20 minutes before asked wour order by then it was too late for us to order as the other table waited 20 minutes for their cooked breakfast. Decaf coffee I couldn't drink because of the layer of oil on it, thought it was full fat milk but my daughter's didn't have it. All in all it's a lovely little pub.

We visited on a Sunday lunchtime and we're disappointed with the service. We understand that the Sunday lunch service is a busy time, however once sat it took approx 30 mins to get a drinks order placed, we had to ask for our food order to be taken. We were waiting about 1hr 20 for our lunch, we ordered just mains. Three other tables that had been sitted after us, were served before us. When we asked about the timeframe to receiving our lunch order, the staff came across annoyed and argumentative with us. The food was fine when we received it. The whole service just seemed unorganised and staff apprearing stressed and annoyed throughout. We have previously had a nice meal on Saturday (late afternoon), so this was really disappointing and we wouldn't want to return.

Came here with family for an evening meal, service was extremely poor took 20 minutes to receive drinks and had to get the waitresses attention to order food. The food was ok (£22 for a pie ) but after waiting almost an hour we would of eaten anything. Even more frustrating when other diners meals who came in after got theirs before we did. No explanation from staff as to why we were waiting so long for our food. Wont be coming back

We had a wonderful first experience and cannot rave enough about this place! Staff were very attentive and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The roast dinner was incredible and was hands down the best roast we have ever had. Having recently moved to Wiltshire, we can’t wait to make this our local!

FIrst off the pub itself is beautiful and very clean. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The menu is very unique and offers some unusual country pub choices. We had the pizzas and they were delicious. The only downfall is the prices of the food. We understand prices are higher at the moment, but £22 for a pie and sides seems very steep! This would also be a nice pub to pop into for a drink and nibbles after a long walk or after a trip to Stonehenge.

After reading positive reviews decided to follow the many recommendations. So glad I did ! Positive friendly greeting as so as we arrived, offer of water and glasses and menus issued when water returned (speedily) selection of pizzas was good and not run of the mill. Remaing selection of starters and mains, whilst not vast, offered a good mix. When the meals arrived they were all absolutely delicious ! Liver and bacon,
