Excellent Saturday night stay celebrating various birthdays etc. Made to feel like a VIP from start to finish. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for lunch, but every meal we've had at The Brunel has been epic.

A place where you can sleep after watching football if you are tired belongs only to an inn, not a hotel

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, it’s Faulty Towers in Saltash. I arrived on a Monday and my first room didn’t have curtains on the window and there was no plug in the sink, my second room was better as it had curtains, but again the plug in the sink didn’t fit and no plug in the bath, it had a double bed and a single bed but the double had a single dovie so I had to use the other single dovie to keep warm as there was no central heating. The night I arrived I went down to eat but was told they don’t serve food on Mondays and Tuesdays and as this was 20.05 pm they said the chip shop had closed at 8pm. When I asked why they didn’t say they didn’t provide food they said we advertise as a B&B. The first night the bar closed at 9 pm which meant I had to go to my room as the place was locked. The next morning I went downstairs for breakfast to be told they don’t serve breakfast any day, I said but you advertise you do B&B they said they had to say that as the can’t advertise they don’t do breakfast. The second night was no better but I did manage fish and chips before 8pm but again the bar closed at 9pm due to lack of customers, so again I was forced up to my room. As the sink couldn’t hold water I asked if they could keep my milk in the fridge overnight and to leave it at my door in the morning which they did, and that night I had my first cooked meal in 3 days which was ok. I decided I had had enough and asked to check out on Thursday morning, again the bar closed but on the Thursday morning I had a knock at my door at 9.35 to tell me I had to be out my room by 10am but they didn’t drop my milk off so had nothing to drink, I went downstairs and said to the manager I hadn’t have the chance to have a coffee, so she maid me one, but she said I had been seen smoking out the window, I said yes because I was forced up to my room at 9pm and I didn’t go sleep until 11pm so what am i supposed to do,m. While sitting I looked my bank account to find a charge of £28 when I asked what this was for she said bought Everyone in the bar a drink, I disputed this but they said they had it in ctv, I was also due a refund for one night stay, but that refund was cancelled by the manager. I then took my coffee out side and a person came out and locked the main door but my luggage was in side, I had to ask her to open the door so I could get my luggage. This is by far the worst hotel experience of my life, so unless you want a Faulty Towers experience don’t go, don’t go

Hands down the worst roast dinner I've ever had, if anywhere in the country can make a roast anywhere near as naff as this it'd be an achievement, veg was like cheap frozen Iceland veg, gravy was some sort of weird jelly and served in a plastic takeaway tub, cauliflower cheese was just cauliflower shrapnel nuts with a burger cheese slice grilled onto it and I don't even want to talk about the meat. Not a bad pint tbh but couldn't eat the food, for the price charged you could do with sourcing some decent ingredients and someone who knows how to cook them.

It’s a very basic room, nothing fancy but for 60 quid a night you’re not expecting it to be. The staff were amazingly friendly. Only complaint are the beds, they definitely need a refresh! After a couple of nights they didn’t do my back any favours. There’s music on but it’s advertised on their pages and all done and dusted by 11pm. The bar was nice, serve a good pint!

So, read all the reviews and not sure what to expect 🤔. Was visiting as my son lives in Saltash and was getting married. Booked the Brunel Inn with anticipation as previous reviews not good. Came armed with cleaning products but not needed. Bit tired as previously mentioned. If you really, really look you can find dust. Very basic and tired but ok as per other reviews. The Inn is an old building, sash windows and listing floors The only complaint was from other guests. No respect to the noise levels on returning to the Inn. We stayed beginning of the week for 3 night's. Would we stay again ......probably as this is the only place within walking distance to my son. Didn't visit the pub side much but when we did the staff were very friendly and helpful 😀 xx
