After a few rough nights at a Soviet hotel, words can’t describe how happy I was to see this hotel. The male receptionist was very welcoming when I arrived as he let me check in a bit earlier after a train ride. The breakfast fulfilled my needs as they have fresh fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, eggs, coffee… no complaint. The guy working at the breakfast area was also very helpful. After I finished gym, I went up there. He immediately asked me if I needed water. It shows that he’s attentive. I felt happy staying there. The reason I booked it was the gym. As an active person, I need to work out on my travels. The gym is not fully equipped but it provides with the basics such as a treadmill, a bike and weights. Location wise, it’s not in the center of the tourist spot but it’s walking distance. It took me 15 min to get to Registan. Don’t worry though as Samarkand is pedestrian friendly.

Was a nice experience staying at the Medina hotel. It was conveniently located a few km from many famous sites and good restaurants, nice pool, and well maintained. Rooms were simple, but clean.

It's called Medina Hotel, so you might think it's inside Medina, but it's actually on the roadside. The hotel is a one-kilometer walk from Registan Square. There are restaurants and beverage shops downstairs, so it is generally convenient. The room facilities are average. The repair service was forgotten and we had to contact them several times. The network is pretty fast. The breakfast was very good and rich, and it was served on the balcony on the 5th floor, so you don't have to eat lunch after having breakfast.

Alas, this hotel is really difficult to review. There are many places where you want to spray it, but it is not completely useless. When I arrived on the first night, I really wanted to explode: 1. They gave me the wrong room! I went to a room first, and when I opened the door, there were two boxes! I didn't dare go in for fear of being beaten to death, so I asked the front desk to open the door for me to confirm. I didn’t expect there were guests living there! I guess it scared the other person half to death. 2I paid online before, but they made a mistake and asked me to pay again. Fortunately, I discovered it in time and returned it. The door of room 3 opens outwards and has no safety buckle. To be honest, people who have security anxiety will really be anxious. 4. The soundproofing of the room is really bad, the gap between the door is quite large, and the voices of people outside can be heard in the room. Based on the above things, I really decided to give it a completely bad review the next day. But the second day I had a better experience. First of all, there is the breakfast restaurant, which has a nice environment and the food is worthy of this small hotel. The swimming pool is filled with water and cleaned every day. The decoration and furniture in the room are actually quite good, basically the same as in the pictures. I saw that everyone said the waiters were very bad before, maybe they were replaced this time? The attitude towards us is good. His English is a little bit poor, but our English is also very bad. After staying for two days, I feel that this hotel actually wants to run well. It may be the lack of experience in hotel management that leads to chaos and poor attention to details. There is room for improvement, please be lenient and don't give a bad review.

1. The front desk clerks are a bunch of hooligans and their attitudes are very bad. 2. To cheat people, they charge random fees. Visa on arrival is 27USD per person, but other hotels don’t charge a cent. 3. When we inquired about the ticket, they were enthusiastic and helpful, but actually charged us 25USD for the difference. When we were unsure, they charged us 10USD for the refund (the key point was that the ticket was wrong. We requested a ticket from Samarkand to Tashkent, but he bought a ticket from Tashkent to Samarkand) 4. Visa on arrival is processed in one day instead of two days 5. Threatening us: "This is Uzbekistan, not China, so be careful what you say."

I have been to dozens of countries, and this is the first time I have encountered such a rubbish hotel. Not only was the room very small, but you could smell a stench as soon as you entered it. The toilet was even more disgusting. When I first checked in, I wanted to wash my hands in the toilet but it was so smelly that I almost vomited. The hotel restaurant staff have a very poor attitude and basically no sense of proactive service. Their English proficiency is almost zero and they are unwilling to find ways to communicate with guests. I ordered a pilaf and was served a small plate of white rice as shown in the picture. Know what you want to do. There were flies flying around in the restaurant, and I was very hungry the night I checked in. At night, dogs were all barking around the hotel, and they couldn't stop, which seriously affected their rest. You start knocking on the door from room to room at around six o'clock in the morning. Are you worried that the guests are resting too well? That is to say, the reception at the front desk is barely satisfactory, both in terms of English level and service attitude.

A good choice, but the hotel didn't remind me to check in 2 hours early and I had to pay $40! **** didn't say a word, "Wait a minute, now it's double the price." Just take the money and stop talking. Speechless 😓, the breakfast is really great, I have to say more about the good stuff.

A hotel with good facilities and environment in the old city. The decoration style is elegant and comfortable, and the interior space of the rooms is considerable. The only drawback is that the bathroom is not separated from wet and dry areas, and the toilet drain function is defective. Overall, it's remarkable.
