We were welcomed with a cream tea in the garden. This is our third stay at Middletown Farmhouse. Our hosts are always welcoming and prepared to help with any requests we have had. An evening platter of cheese, ham and salad is available. We have always found this welcome after a day of travelling. On this occasion we ordered packed lunches on the day we were leaving and found these to be generous and enjoyable. Breakfast is delicious, with a good amount of choice.

A lovely old house with loads of character. Very clean and tidy with a large comfy bed . We had a great night's sleep due to the house being in a quiet part of the village, parking was in the garden and only a few yards from the house door . Tea and coffee in the room and beautiful homemade short bread . Big shower and toilet both very clean. Breakfast was great with everything you wanted. I would definitely recommend to my friends and family A++

The room was very cosy and nice. I enjoyed the shower so much and the cheese scones in the mini jar was really nice. It provides a very comfortable respite for people looking to stay in the middle of know where. Am not sure if they provide dinner as I did not require dinner while I was there.

We stayed here as it was a short walk from my friend’s remote location we were visiting for the wkd. In a unique village, the farmhouse has stayed loyal to its character and traditions. The double room was impeccable, the hospitality was warm and stood-out as a highlight. Both Nicky & Kevin were fascinating and very nearly became the highlights of the wkd ahead of the ‘end of summer’ celebrations we visited for! We were welcomed into the local traditions and enjoyed their lovely accommodation that focused, not just on Dartmoor/Devon but very much the village of Sampford Courtenay past and present. We both enjoyed breakfasts made predominantly from local produce - this was especially impressive. Personally, I look forward to freshly cocked breakfasts while I’m away from home - I feel I should state that I had two of, if not the best dishes to date; the cooking was perfect from every aspect. It tasted incredible. We regretted not strolling through the garden visiting the chickens that laid such fine eggs. However, the whole experience is unforgettable. A truly great stay in a very old building that had all the comforts you could wish for. A real 5⭐️

Not enough stars to do this justice. Accommodation superb and room beautifully fitted out and quiet. Cooked breakfast the best I've had in many years and you could tell the ingredients were top quality. But needs another star for the wonderfully welcoming hosts - like meeting friends.

Nicky was a fabulous host, she was Helpful but not over the top. Lovely restored property and spacious bedroom. Great scones and best breakfast freshly prepared. If you want the country feel you should go, little walks around the village and old church was open

This is by far the best B&B we have stayed in. Nicky and Kevin are lovely hosts and genuinely wanted to make our stay as perfect as they could. Our room was very comfortable and quiet so we both had a good night's sleep throughout our stay. Decaf tea and coffee were provided along with homemade shortbread. We were offered a Devon cream tea when we arrived which we had to decline as we had an early evening table booked at the New Inn which is only minutes down the road. Next time we stay we'll have to arrive earlier to take Nicky up on her kind offer! Breakfast was served in a beautiful room off the main hallway with choices of cereals, homemade granola and yoghurt served with berries or compote, followed by a cooked breakfast. We were certainly set up for the day ahead. The farmhouse is located in a beautiful, unspoilt village, famous for the Prayer Book Rebellion in 1549, with countryside walks all around. We will definitely return.
