We had a fantastic stay at Mormoraia! The property has the most stunning views of the Tuscany countryside. The rolling hills with vineyards, farms and olive trees just make it look so magical. The town of San Gimignano sits in the distance and makes a beautiful backdrop with its medieval towers. The staff were all amazing and went out of their way to accommodate our every need. Eugenio was so helpful and fun to be around. The rooms were decorated in a modern style with an old world feel. They were clean with comfortable beds. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning with delicious pastries and croissants. They would even make made to order omelets. The lunch and dinners were great as well. We did a wine tour with Julia and she was lovely. She explained the history of the property and all the details about the wines made on site. We tasted 3 reds and 3 whites and had a yummy charcuterie to pair with the wines. So convenient with the winery on the property. We also enjoyed the gorgeous pool. It was so peaceful and relaxing on our sunny days. This property is an hour from Florence and a great location to visit Siena (30 minutes away)or 10 minutes into San Gimignano. The only thing we would change about our stay was we would have stayed longer had we known how amazing Mormoraia was! We highly recommend staying here. We will be back!

The best thing going for the Mormoraia is the glorious views from the hotel. They are truly breathtaking! The hotel itself, meh! The rooms are small, thin walls, as we were kept up for two hours the first night by our upstairs neighbors constantly walking back and forth across their room. If you stay here, get an upstairs room. The restaurant is just okay, the service is bad. They do not staff enough servers, so you have to ask for another glass of wine or bread or anything. We had the steak Florentine one night and it was inedible. Our bathroom shower and sink would not drain, so while showering, I was standing in 3 inches of water. I give it 3 stars for the beauty of the grounds.

Mormoria has excellent facilities, clear and well laid our rooms. The restaurant is run by separate staff who were excellent and the food and views exceptional . Unfortunately this great service is not matched by the hotel management. Upon arrival we were told we are early (we got there at 1pm, and were told the rooms will only be available at 3 - which I understand is the stated policy) All our other hotels in Italy contacted us in advance asking when we will arrive and went out of their way to have our rooms ready on arrival. Mormoraia management were unfriendly and dismissive, souring our visit to this classy establishment
