In case You explore Tuscany with a car, perfect place to stay with fairy tale surroundings. The room was clean, and stuff friendly. The restaurant was excellent! In a couple of days ( we were four people) we tried a lot of dishes, and all of them were really good. Everything on the correct price. We can only recommend their wine too. Definitely a place to return. Well done La Sterpaia, thank you, especially for the waiters and cooks!

We booked as a B&B as a base to explore Tuscany. It was a great choice but you do need a hire car. Located 20 mins from airport it’s convenient for arrival but really quiet. You are literally 10mins drive from the Leaning Tower and Pisa attractions, and only 15mins from motorway for other Tuscany attractions. The room was clean and had what we needed, Wi-Fi, comfy beds, fridge and fans. Breakfast was a continental buffet and was fine, staff lovely and friendly and water hot and plentiful. No idea what many complaints on here are on about, great location!

The only thing nice is the natural park … we left to another hotel. They gave as a room near the reception, where the wifi (which is not good) works a little better, which makes everybody sit with the Phone outside our room (and not 1 or 2 people but awhole Class or Big groups 15 people) which gave no privacy at all and no conditioner Air so we needed to of course open the door for Air (very hot in the room) which means all the time that constant people outside was almost like to have Them in your room… I Think is a place to take a Class or a School and enjoy the Nature around…I wouldn’t Call it a hotel… by the Way also rest of paper and plastic under the bed, so makes me wonder about the cleaning of the room.

The place is beautiful, but poorly managed, the structure is in a reserve, but the rooms are dilapidated. We stayed one night (arrived late we wanted to have dinner at the restaurant, they told us on the phone that reservations were not necessary, but once we arrived we found the kitchen closed due to the lack of customers, so set off with the car again, and find a place to eat!!!). The room: the faulty lock, difficulty in opening and closing with the key; creaking wooden beams and in some places completely detached from the floor; no bidet, old and worn furniture, single beds instead of a double, old and uncomfortable mattresses, as well as pillows; dirty towels, old and poorly functioning hair dryer! In the shower only a central shower head. The toilet flush does not work properly! Inside only one chair and also broken. Very small fridge with heat dispersion. At 5 am woken up by the myriad of birds nearby. The only positive note: breakfast and kindness of the cleaners.

Sono stato al Casale La Sterpaia con tutta la mia famiglia per due notti. Devo dire, un posto incantevole, l'Hotel è in mezzo ad una enorme tenuta ottocentesca che visitabile in bici, in cavallo, a piedi e in carrozza. C'è possibilità di visitare i cavalli, farsi un barbecue e c'è un grande parco per bambini. Colazione adeguata, personale squisito e sempre disponibile. Uniche due pecche: (1) la reception chiude alle 19, ma la chiusura è comunque ben gestita perchè ti danno la possibilità di fare il check in da remoto e lasciano le chiavi a disposizione nella toppa della camera oppure al ristorante; (2) le camere, un tantino vetuste, così come i bagni ma tale vetustà è sicuramente superata dal fatto che la mattina ci si sveglia col canto degli uccellini. Purtroppo le pareti non hanno una grande insonorizzazione e, devo dire, il prezzo, per via della risalenza dei locali, forse è un po' eccessivo. Ma, ripeto, il bilanciamento finale è a favore della struttura, ci tornerò senz'altro.

Ho passato un paio di notti con la famiglia in questo casale. Avendolo prenotato il giorno prima in tutta fretta non abbiamo verificato le recensioni, il luogo o altro. Trovare il casale che è all'interno di un parco immenso, (ippodromo compreso) ci ha positivamente meravigliato. Locali spartani e puliti in linea con il contesto. Ideale per chi cerca un po di pace. È comunque vicino a Pisa e al mare. Unico punto di attenzione è la quasi mancanza di copertura mobile e Wi Fi non sempre stabile.
