A very attractive hotel, verdant gardens and the warmest of welcomes from fabulous reception staff. We stayed in a junior suite which was stunning: spotlessly clean, quiet, top floor, massive bed and excellent bedding, air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary soft drinks. Swimming pool was large, clean and cold! No cushions on the chaise longues and rarely saw staff outside. First day was delightfully quiet in the garden with plentiful bird singing however the next day the birds were drowned out by the sound of building works next door, with constantly beeping reversing vehicles which on our second day started at 0700. The next day it started at 0730 which was an improvement and meant we could have a lie in without being woken up. Apparently the work is for the hotel’s event side of things (as well as roadworks) and there were various events being held at the hotel but nothing intrusive because the grounds are so big and most people attending the events didn’t venture into the main hotel and swimming pool area. The restaurant was fine - a little too much veal for my liking and the mixed vegetables with the main courses consisted of potatoes so not enough green veg for us. The restaurant staff were pleasant and efficient, especially the Russian waitress. The restaurant manager was a little abrupt but worked hard. The spa treatment was excellent and again, delightful staff. Surrounding area was a typical working small town with a small supermarket, couple of pleasant bars, church, school etc. Train service is excellent and cheap but you’ll need a taxi to get to the nearest train station and taxis are quite expensive. Best bet is probably to hire a car.

We had a suite on the second floor which had a huge room and large comfortable bed. There was a lovely view to the rear of the property, although one night we didn't sleep due to trees being cut down throughout the night. Bathroom was also a good size - one morning there water was only lukewarm which we assumed was due to a large group setting off early on a local tour. The staff were fantastic in the hotel and the breakfast lovely. We found the dinner restaurant disappointing and will review separately. The spa was also very nice, just needs a bigger changing area but the outdoor pool was too cold for us to be tempted. Overall a very enjoyable 3 nights.

An amazing stay over 5 day with family - pre-wedding. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were jovial and friendly, the management just so willing to help. This hotel is large, it has some wonderful examples of 16th century art which has been passed down. Beautifully furnished and cool, even in the heat of July. The gardens are massive, one may take lunch in the shaded glade, dinner in the restaurant, all of a good quality. We most certainly will return in the cooler season. Exceptional. (One observation is perhaps there should be a handrail near the steps of the pool, it can be quite slippy)

A wonderful hotel just outside Perugia, set in glorious grounds. Formerly a grand, country home it offers high standard in rooms, service and facilities. The pool is fabulous, set amongst a mature, shaded garden. Plenty of outside space to eat outside, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner and to relax with an evening drink. We had a junior suite with ample space, and views over the garden. Rooms are spotlessly clean, fridge replenished daily with gratis water and soft drinks. Staff are terrific, helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.
