Have stayed at this property several times for 7+ years & enjoyed it, so I do not enjoy writing a negative review about a property I previously liked. Unfortunately, the last 2 visits have been less pleasant. It seems that the owners are continuing to ignore the reality that the rooms are well "past due" for significant upgrades. Especially "if" they intend to keep the pricing at current 4+ star levels. Otherwise, lower the rates to that of a 2-3 star property & stop pretending to be 4 star or higher property. The public areas are truly lovely & inviting & they are kept in good condition & this is what draws repeat guests. The location only 1 block from the main Plaza also cannot be beat. However, the rooms continue a downhill slide. If I am paying $200++ nightly I should not have to fill a trash can with water from the bathtub to get the toilet to flush for 3 days. In addition, I have NEVER stayed at another 4+ star property in SMA that provided such inferior worn & thin bed linens. Totally unacceptable at these rates. And how about new & clean shower curtains & basic cleaning of the STAINED & DIRTY carpet & window coverings? EASILY visible "urine & blood" stains on BOTH mattress covers is absolutely unacceptable & unforgiveable in ANY hotel. Casa Rosada was originally part of the TESORO hotel group which has some of the finest boutique properties in Mexico, but the hotel HAS NOT been part of TESORO for several years even though the sign is still displayed at the exterior entrance, which is misleading to say the least. All employees are very helpful, friendly & eager to provide quality service, so NO complaints about employees. The problems are directly related to ownership & management decisions. If Casa Rosada wants to pretend to be a 4+ star property the rooms need MASSIVE quality upgrades, & housekeeping needs a HUGE wakeup call as the attached photos clearly confirm.
