Very well impressed by this cozy hotel in the enter of San Miguel. The staff was extremely helpful and gentle, the bedroom great and the rooftop has a small charming pool + a bar. The interiors are very well decorated. I’d definitely stay there again!

This is one of the finest boutique hotels we have ever experienced… the place itself is a UNESCO site, an amazing historical building, curated into a spectacular 6-room hotel. But the people and the impeccable service and friendliness is what stands out. Every detail was tended to before we even thought of it. Our room had its own entrance with a beautiful balcony and fireplace, all the history but state of the art amenities. Breakfast was our favorite with homemade breads, and Roberto the bartender was the best. Sonia and Danielle answered every question and helped us find the best restaurants. Can’t wait to go back!

This was our first trip to San Miguel. We were welcomed by the owner and Daniella with moist towels, water and a taste of Mezcal. We loved the quaint quiet environment during our stay. The staff trested us well and when we requested ice it was brought to our room. The food for breakfast was overall good. We enjoyed visiting with everyone and learning about Deborah Tuberville. We will recommend this hotel in the future. One note: San Miguel does have a 16% IVA along with a 4% Lodging tax which does add to the cost.

I hardly ever write hotel reviews but this place was so bad that travellers need to be warned. First of all this is not a boutique hotel (let alone a 4/5 star one as advertised), there’s barely any staff available other than a receptionist. Barely any food offering either. As other travellers noted, the check-in process is a mess, I was chased more than five times before even arriving to sign a credit card authorisation form after I had already been charged for the whole stay. I was travelling at the time without access to a printer but I was told my booking could not be “confirmed and guaranteed” without the form so I was unsure till I got to the place whether I would have a room despite having paid in full. The place is tiny and I’m not talking boutique tiny, just small and badly kept. It also looks much better in pictures than in real life. No soundproofing in rooms so all the noise comes in from the terrace and rooftop making it impossible to rest. Was meant to be given upgrade (rooms were available online) and welcome amenities but received nothing, other than a sad “fruit platter” made up of two apples. Dirty rug in the room. The whole place (staff included) feels unwelcoming and stingy. There’s prices on everything in the room, breakfast is pitiful (just some coffee tea and bread). There is no service and bad management attitude shows they do not care either. There are a million lovely hotels in San Miguel, so do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

The main hotel is charming and beautiful touches. We were in the other building 10 minutes walk and not as charming but clean with the wonderful housekeeping lady. What was not appreciated was how stingy they were. Even the plastic water bottle next to the bed had a price tag and if you use more than one pod pe person you are charges. They charges us extra $100 a night for the 3 rd person and didn't give us an extra coffee pod!! Make sure you don't open the wrapping of the room freshener because you might get charged $38 since the price tag is inside the wrapper.

Terrible experience, beautiful place with people who do NOT qualify to be working in a hotel, bad faces, a lot of noise, you can't sleep, you can hear the trucks, cars, maids cleaning, the parking lot is VERY FAR! , for the same $$ you find places with helpful and polite staff

There is a reason they give you earplugs, without them you won’t sleep…do not pay the big bucks for lame excuses from the front desk like the mayor owns the disco or San Miguel is a noisy place…totally unacceptable

Advertised as a Small Luxury Hotel … - “Small”, yes. We booked 3 rooms which is about 50% of the place. - “Luxury”, yes. Very Nicely decorated - “hotel” services…not quite. Expect to be under-serviced especially when it comes to food and drinks for the rates they charge: - breakfast is Included but offers an Incredibly poor assortment and it might be the only luxury hotel that charges for every coffee refill at the table. - The advertised rooftop is definitely worth just for photos. It does not open on Mondays, has an incredibly limited and low quality food assortment. (We were all surprised by the Burnt and dry Spanish Tortilla , which was likely reheated from the day before, as well as for the terrible corn tamales). - Expect to be asked to go back to your rooms or leave the hotel premises if you would like to remain for a quiet conversation after 10:00 pm at the rooftop or any other common area. Food Service does not match the ambience standard.
