Beware when booking this hostel. We did not have a good experience with our stay. The staff at this hostel is bad and you run the risk of ruining your trip if you book here. Upon check in, we kept ringing the bell, someone would answer and tell us to come up but the front door wouldn’t open. We kept ringing the bell and they would answer but make no attempt to come down and open the door for us. Finally when another resident of the building was leaving, we were able to come in. The staff greeted us by the door to the apartment but were too lazy to come down two sets of stairs to let us into the building. This is a hostel, not a hotel. You have your own room but the bathrooms are shared. The cleanliness of the bathrooms will depend on how clean the other guests staying there are. On the second day we were staying here, I went to the store nearby and didn’t lock the room as my wife was staying in and we were only given one set of keys. She did not lock the room after I left but the door was closed. She said about 10 minutes later, a man opened the door, saw her on the bed on her computer, apologized and closed the door. This must have been another guest as there’s no one at the reception. It is very clear which rooms are guest rooms, and our room was the only one on this side of the wall, so it’s not just someone making a mistake. This was at about 1pm, so during the day. Just beware that it’s not the safest place depending on what kind of guests are staying there and someone might try to come into your room if you don’t lock it. The last big issue we had - We were supposed to stay 2 nights but our plans changed and the first day we got in, we wanted to book one more night. On booking .com the room showed as available for $108. We decided to message the hosts directly on WhatsApp to see if maybe it would be cheaper if we booked it though them. They responded 10 minutes later but told us a higher price and then they also changed the price on booking .com. We get a discount on that website anyway, so we just booked it through the website. The next day we were told that they have another reservation for 5 nights and they’ll need us to move to a different location to accommodate that group. Awful hospitality!!! We specifically booked the same room for another night so we wouldn’t have to move. If we wanted to move, we would have booked a different and cheaper hotel room. We told them to just cancel the extra night we booked because at that point we didn’t even feel very safe staying there anyway after the episode with the man. After we checked out, we got a notification on booking .com that our original 2 day reservation was also canceled (but not refunded). The staff did this on purpose so we wouldn’t leave a negative review on that website. BEWARE!!!
