A bit far from the city centre, but still within walking distance (~20 mins). Very dorm -like accommodation, but has pretty much everything you need. Good breakfast buffet with a chef making eggs and bacon to your liking. During weekends the parking right in front of the hotel is free. As mentioned, it's not centrally located and coming back from the old town at night time we found out it was impossible to get a taxi. But if you don't mind a bit of a walk then it's fine. Our room was one towel short and we had to ask for it from the reception. Not a major issue though. The hotel seems to be converted from a campus/dorm, so it's not particularly charming and for that type of hotel it's quite pricey. But all the hotels in San Sebastian seem to be super expensive, so keeping that in mind Olarain was reasonable.

The place is very clean. The hotel still functions as a dormitory. The staff are nice. Walking distance to the beach and about 25 to 30 minutes to downtown. The breakfast options have different prices so make sure to understand what you are buying.

Positives first! The rooms are clean and ours was spacious. Was also only a ten min walk to the beach which is beautiful. But there is no AC. This will be a massive issue if hot weather I would genuinely not therefore stay here in the height of summer. The hotel itself I think is a sports tournament hotel for kids? Hundreds there. Felt like I was in summer camp. Problematic at breakfast and at night they’re shouting out their rooms at each other..:if you’re just crashing for a few nights and will barely be here it’s ok but to be honest expect difficult sleep due to the kids and AC issue and breakfasts get there early or battle with 100 teenagers 👍🏻👍🏻

Very kind staff speaking French and English. The establishment was well located there are quite a few buses nearby which drop you off in town and at the bus station directly which made our travels easier. Located 10 minutes walk from the beach. Located 10 minutes from the funicular. The bedding was very good, we slept well in a king size. I asked for an extra bed for my 6 year old daughter, she got a real, very comfortable single bed and it was free. The shower was clean. Has a very practical mini fridge. There is a safe and a wardrobe. We did not try the breakfast, it is 13€ for the buffet, 5€ for the continental lunch (3 coffee items, 1 pastries and a juice) There is parking in front of the hotel and a little further down. It’s €4 for the day.

The room was large and they accommodated two adults and two children. The large bathroom. It has no luxuries but everything was functional and no detail was lacking. The beds were comfortable, the shower spacious, the closets large and well stocked, and a refrigerator in the room. The point to improve is that it does not have air conditioning although they gave us a fan since the room was very warm. Good value for money. Highly recommended.

We thought we were going to stay in a university residence. Its price was in line with that, but we found an excellent hotel with breakfast for 4 euros, a super spacious room and, since it was a weekend, free parking. BBB. What more to ask for. Good value for money for St Sebastian where hotels are very expensive. Hotel without charm, but clean and well equipped, which allows you to reach the concha on foot. The little extra: a bicycle garage to store or rent a bicycle and parking at a reasonable price in front of the hotel, €3/day. Ideal for a night or two.
