Alpine Hotel Gran Foda'

Despite its excellent location, our stay at this hotel was a bitter disappointment. On the last few meters of our 700 km long journey, we had a car accident due to the hotel's driveway being insufficiently cleared and gritted - and we have a four-wheel drive! The manager had previously instructed us to park right in front of the entrance, without mentioning that this was the steepest and most poorly cleared part of the complex. Despite the fresh snow, which of course requires special precautionary measures, especially with multiple arrivals that day, the safety of the guests was obviously not guaranteed. Our vehicle slid uncontrollably down the slope and was only stopped by another car, a mishap that we learned also happened to other guests. The breakfast offering was average: baked rolls, juice from a canister, although the cheese was of good quality. The departure was just as problematic as the arrival; When we pulled out of the parking space we slipped again. A hotel employee offered to help, but was not very confident and the so-called manager even refused us grit, saying he only had salt, which wasn't helpful on ice. A lengthy discussion led to no result. To our surprise, everything from the driveway to the public road was cleared properly - in stark contrast to the conditions on the hotel grounds, which obviously do not have the necessary equipment for clearing snow. This stay was not only disappointing but also highly risky due to the hotel's negligence regarding security. I can only strongly advise against staying overnight here.
