The Frontier Motel in Cuba, New Mexico, offers a straightforward and comfortable stay. It boasts all necessary amenities, including a full kitchen, which is a great convenience for longer stays or families. While the decor may be slightly dated, the rooms are impeccably clean and the atmosphere is pleasantly quiet. The staff are friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience. Also the reason for 4/5, we were very late in arriving, well after the office had closed. I forget the name of the kind woman that called but she went out of her way to make sure we had a place to rest after a very long day. Kindness such as that is rare these days, and sure goes a long way in the service industry. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with essential comforts, the Frontier Motel is a solid choice in Cuba.

We called and booked. The staff was helpful. They are not available past 9 pm so we paid over the phone and they put the key in a lockbox. We needed a place between Bisti and Bandelier. It was bad idea to drive at night as the roads were not paved and closed. We had to go through Farmington. The room/bathroom was not very clean, there was no soap, shampoo, the water and heater take time to heat up and kick in. There is no breakfast. It was an average stay.

Older motel. Our room had been renovated and was nice enough. Comfy bed, fluffy towels, fridge, micro, coffee maker, spacious. A/C is an evaporative cooler, not refrigerated air. No breakfast and NO ice.

The AC unit, hot/cold water control, wifi, and evening staff was horrid. Evening staff interaction was rushed and severely lacked in any customer service etiquette. For some odd reason, the exterior room lights are not individually wired to each room. When front desk staff left work early, all room exterior lights turned off along with the wifi connection.

Wählten Cuba und das Frontier als Ausgangspunkt für den Wilderness Bereich nahe des Chaco Culture. Das Motel war mit rund 70$ recht günstig und erfüllte unsere Erwartungen in diese Preisklasse. Netter Empfang und rasches CheckIn. Wir hatten ein Zimmer auf der anderen Strassenseite, vermutlich ehemals ein eigenes Motel. Zimmer ganz okay, Bett mit Federkern okay. Es wurde sehr kalt in der Nacht, wir mussten den Ofen in Anspruch nehmen, hat aber geklappt. Etwas lauter Kühlschrank und dann natürlich auch Lärm von dem Ofen. Wir würden hier aber trotzdem wieder übernachten. Kein Frühstück. Der Ort bietet immerhin einige Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten und Tankstellen. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist stimmig.

Im Chaco NHP gibt es höchstens einen Zeltplatz, der aber mit einem Truckcamper, dessen Vermieter Asphaltstraßen vorschreibt, gar nicht erreicht werden darf! Bei *********** war das Frontier Motel nicht bekannt, und es betreibt auch keine Webseite. Aber in Google maps habe ich einen Eintrag mit einer Telefonnummer gefunden: 001 575-289-3474. So konnten wir telefonisch reservieren, hat alles bestens geklappt. Der Staff ist freundlich, check in ist von 14 bis 10 Uhr. Sollte man das vom Chaco kommend nicht ganz schaffen, darf man anrufen.

Für alle, die nicht im Camper unterwegs sind, ist dies die einzige Unterkunft, die vom Chaco Culture NHP innerhalb von 2 Stunden erreichbar ist. Sie war auf keinem Hotelportal zu finden, nur Google Maps gab eine Telefonnummer preis. Schöner Bau in dem kleinen Ort, dessen Ortsteile wie üblich durch Highways zerschnitten werden.
