Hotel Maiensee

A very good few days. It's our third time here and everything is as good as always. Better actually, with the rooms being refurbished. I only have one little thing; the heating can't be regulated independently, so be prepared to open windows! The food was absolutely outstanding! As always! I am sure we will be back, espesially when I am looking at my pictures taken from our window; the chair lift is just there...

We were in the apartment, 5 mins from the hotel, so can’t comment on rooms in the hotel, but the food and service were excellent there, particular mention to the lady on reception and Finlay in the restaurant for customer care and help. Thank you.

The food was incredible from breakfast to dinner. We are from the US and many aspects of living are different, the hospitality shown from the staff made our first time experiencing Austria very natural and easy. Definitely our best hotel experience ever! We will DEFINITELY return :)

The Traxl Family have created something truly magical. The Hotel Maiensee is located in the most peaceful and stunning part of the Arlberg, but one can get to St Anton or Lech by bus or skis in a matter of minutes. We had the most beautiful Christmas week as Stephan and his darling family made us feel that their home was our home, too. The hotel is tastefully and elegantly decorated and actually more impressive to behold than any of the pictures on the website! The staff were so friendly and accommodating, our rooms were spotlessly cleaned each day, the chef was creative and inspiring, and the common areas were so relaxing and comfortable. We had an Arlberg Panorama Junior Suite connected to an Arlberg Panorama Double room - perfect for our family of 5. The views of the pistes and mountains were a delight to behold as we relaxed in our window seats. The bathrooms were huge and well designed. Highlights for us were the amazing breakfasts - our compliments to the 'egg man'! - which lacked for nothing, the convenient ski room with boot warmers, and the après ski snacks, which were more like meals (!) and provided a jolly and warming atmosphere to share stories of the day on the slopes. Finally, we will never forget Stephan's fine and heartwarming Christmas Eve speech to his guests as we sipped complimentary champagne and then later sang carols together. We sang some carols in German and others in English. But the night ended with 'Silent Night' which guests all sang together but each in their native language. The resulting sound was moving and perfectly beautiful, and filled our hearts with a glimmer of hope.....

Maiensee is a hidden gem in the magnificent Arlberg Ski Region in Austria. The hotel is luxurious and the Traxl Family and their loyal team offer the best hospitality and gastronomic excellence. Its a Ski In and Out destination which is amazing & offers some of the most spectacular skiing in Europe. Many guests have been visiting for more than 20years as its very hard to improve upon the winning formula the Traxls offer their loyal guests.
