During my two weeks and El Salvador half of the time it was raining and foggy and windy so we have to move our schedule a couple times and reschedule coming to hike Santa Ana volcano. I wanted to be there the night before so that we could get an early start in Hiking as others have. I contacted the Hostel a couple times and took an Uber out there to stay for that evening. It was freezing. I’m so grateful that I had a Marino wool top that was probably 200 g a fleece jacket over that even wearing that to sleep, I was freezing they had throws really flimsy ones that aren’t even appropriate for the weather. It was in the 40s. There was no heat and the next morning I talked to other guest, most of whom are Latin from Northern California. They all told me that was freezing, but they told me that they went to get more blankets. I didn’t know that you can request for blankets because shouldn’t they already been in the hotel room!!!! it was so freezing cold. It was like we didn’t have shelter. It almost seemed like we were camping since they didn’t keep the rooms insulated nor were we given sufficient blankets. The other guests were telling me they were charging blankets a dollar for additional blanket so if I knew that that was an option, I would’ve gladly paid them several dollars for several blankets. It’s a shame that there is a charge to keep warm! They also should put on their website what to bring to be prepared to stay in their lodge. No food at the lodge but there are street restaurants around the lodge.
