We really enjoyed our stay at Santa Cruz Village Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, housekeeping visited each morning and were very respectful of belongings. All of the staff were so attentive and helpful, they were brilliant with our children. The reception staff are so knowledgeable and helped us to plan our visits to the places we wanted to see. The bus stop is right outside with regular buses to Funchal and Machico. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide range of fruit, meats and cheeses, bread, pastries, yoghurt, cereals and cooked items. Our favourite item was the delicious orange cake which we miss dearly! The location is perfect for Santa Cruz itself with an easy stroll into town and to the beach front. There is a supermarket right next door and a range of restaurants within a few minutes to the main square. The water park is walkable along the promenade which our children enjoyed. A fantastic visit, the staff at this hotel deserve high praise as they made our first visit to Madeira amazing!

Booked this place for 2 nights, total including breakfast £119. I was just out of hospital in Portugal having operation for stomach cancer. Before flight home to England. Put me and my son in horrible room small window facing a wall. Complained so changed room. I had medication from hospital that needed to be kept cold,. The fridge in the room did not work, ask for replacement fridge, which arrived next day,. Not kettle for making tea/coffee, very basic room Sorry we didn't book better hotel in area for cheaper price When checking out, reception staff charge me for , water and bedroom tax, I said I haven't had any water, and Agoda price of £118 was total. No extra to pay. Staff insisted I had to pay, I was in so much pain still with operation for cancer, I just paid extra rippoff charge they ask for I only way I can get some Solis on this hotel is to warn people to avoid this place like the plaig and not to book here. The pictures look lovely, but trust me not the same when you arrive there (scam). Left a bitter taste with me. Horrible old staff, just want your money and not polite about it. I had cancer removed from my stomach, and was glad to remove myself from this so called hotel ( what a joke). Should hang there heads in shame.

Although the environment is good, the facilities are outdated and there is no air conditioning. The house is cool outside and the house is stuffy and hot. What's more terrifying is that there are mosquitoes. It broke my perception that there are no mosquitoes in Europe.

A very elegant hotel. There is a swimming pool available on level -1. Rooms clean and well-equipped. Parking available on the hotel premises. Golf courses are nearby and the ride to the airport takes about 15 minutes. Me and my partner we had a great experience here in Madeira , the staff is very friendly and helpful i want to thank for all your help and support ,the food in the hotel is absolutely delicious 🙏

Having visited Riu’s in Morocco and Cape Verde, we had high hopes. The place is spotless, the staff are excellent. The wifi is brilliant. No matter what time we got up in the morning, we always found a lounger. We spent most of our 2 weeks, relaxing around the pool. One pool is slightly warmer than the other, but, both are nice. It never felt overly crowded, except when it rained and everyone was inside. Thankfully it only rained on one occasion. The food was varied, but I have a bone to pick with the buffet restaurant…..literally… Too many bones, especially the duck. Both times I had some, all I got was huge chunks of bone and no meat. Aside from that, we had a good holiday. We had one trip out to Funchal, using the hotel bus. Oh, and some of the towels need replacing. All I kept getting were threadbare ones.
