Ocean Pacific Lodge

The two kind beds was perfect for our little family. Location was great.

We had a last minute booking for a weekend in Santa Cruz to visit the Boardwalk. We were looking for a family friendly hotel. The location is great, it is walking distance from the Boardwalk. The pictures of the outside of the hotel are definitely enhanced, in person the hotel looks dull and their sign is faded. We were on the second floor, upon entering the room it looks nice. I turned on the ac and it was struggling but eventually got temperature where we wanted. Two of the shutters were broken and forced to remain closed which kept the room darker than we like. The bathroom is terrible and the light in there is much too soft, it’s too dark. It wasn’t the bath, walls or floor alone. The entire bathroom needs to be redone. The carpet is also very dirty. It’s a dark blue, I believe with a pattern. There is a musty smell in the room. Again, you are paying for location but the bathroom and carpet made the room feel cheap. Walls are pretty thin, you can hear walking and we had people staying near our room that were slamming their door over and over. I’d stay there again for a quick trip if I was going for The Boardwalk.

The room was spotless, love the view of the baseball park, friendly staff. Love the walk to the boardwalk. I felt Soo relax and stress free.

Rooms were clean and very convenient. Parking was good and prices are competitive. Would stay again.

Bed bugs. I was given room 106, upon entry there was bleach fumes so I aired it out and was suspicious. Decided to look for signs of bed bugs and found a live bug. Staff told me they have NEVER had them. Plus the bug was full of blood and it got all over my hands, had to message PCP on mychart about that. Rooms are dirty, they are not vacuumed behind beds etc its nasty. Anyway waz given 206, after having to insist on a new room, the guy working there really tried to say this has NEVER happened before. I found one dead one and larvae/babies. Returned to desk, staff then showed me a list of some kind that were treated for this and said they had treated them and begged me to try another room. I asked for a refund and instead he collected from ******* and cancelled my reservation and won’t answer phone. I panicked and didn’t take pics, take a chance if you want. I have zero reason to lie. This ruined my birthday trip. I barely had enough to find new lodging. He was fakely apologetic and lied about helping me get my money back from ******* because he took it. The place needs to be tented. Worse than lice. No breakfast, pools not heated and customer service person essentially lied and took my money.

Showed up late in the night and the staff member was quick to help me. The room was amazing and super close to the boardwalk. I’d absolutely stay again

We could hear the people in the rooms next to us all night. Plus the people in the hot tub right by the window. Needless to say, no one got any sleep. Also there is NO shampoo and conditioner.

The air conditioner was extremely loud all night, and it was basically impossible to sleep. There was only one chair in the room, and when I asked the front desk for an extra one, they told me none were available. Also, the water pressure in the shower was very low, which made showering really uncomfortable and unsatisfying.

Room 117 & 115 the fridges freeze your food. If it is salad, you lost $$. Room 117 is next to laundry and extremely loud at 7am, yelling, carts rolling, laundry banging. not a place to sleep in. but you're here for the waves nearby?!
