This is the third Hacienda we've stayed at and for a variety of reasons our least favorite and one which we cannot recommend. The setting and physical property is nice and similar to the other properties. If you're expecting luxury at any of these properties you will be disappointed. If, however, you're expectations are of rustic accommodations with lots of character and friendly if unpolished service you may be happy. One thing which dampened our experience specifically at Santa Rosa was the lack of information on room types and layouts: we booked a Maya Villa with two bedrooms which is really a triple bedroom with no sitting area and a sub-par bathroom. Really only bookable if you have small children and need 3 beds in the same room. Also room looks nothing like the picture on the Marriott website which shows a Mayan Casita with a swinging bed. We booked another room so we'd be more comfortable. Alao, please note that as a family group we had 6 rooms, and the Mayan Villa was the only disappointing one in terms of amenities and layout. Hopefully thisll help someone trying to book in the future. The real reason we will never return and cannot recommend is because one of the nights they made us sleep in a room next to a party. Apparently they know they're neighbor likes to play loud music into the next day (4:30am) and we were not able to sleep at all. Staff seemed disinterested. Would not come back . If you decide to come, bring earplugs for all rooms and stay away from room 4.
