We stopped at 25 locations or so while walking the camino del Norte so far (including top properties, design hotels, casas rurales and hostals) and this "place" (not sure what to call it) was the worst we experienced. C/i took over 30 min. as there was only one person at front desk, room was noisy, dark and little inviting, bed was tiny and the most uncomfortable we ever slept in, the furnishing was dated and lightning did not even work properly. The worst aspect was having booked a room with a terrace, when in fact, the terrace truly looked horrible, with no views and ridiculous outside furniture (old, damaged and not comfortable). I understand Santillana is a touristic place but San Marcos was a dreadful tourist trap. Don't trust the pics on the web site. They really did not reflect the room and outside space we stayed in ! The only positive aspect was breakfast (nothing out of this world, just decent), but although it was included in our rate, one server pretended it wasn't so they even managed to ruin this moment !

We've stayed in many hotels in Spain - from simple one stars to five-star Paradores - so have a broad experience of what's good and what's not. Suffice to say we contemplated returning to Posada Spa San Marcos on our return journey from a tour of Spain. Had we not visited Santillana del Mar on two previous occasions it would be a definite. We opted for the Posada - rather than the attached hotel - from a fellow traveller's recommendation – and weren't disappointed. The Posada enjoys an adjacent private car park - so easy to move luggage to and fro. It's a five minute walk into the historic area of Santillana del Mar - even with my walking aid! Buffet breakfast was excellent, with everything we required being available - plus the option of a cooked breakfast on request– at no additional charge. Having stayed at the Parador (in the difficult to navigate town-centre), being on the edge of the town proved much more relaxing. To cap it all, if you're a classic car or motorbike buff, the hotel's owner allows guests to view his admirable collection.

El mejor hotel donde he estado ultimamente, y eso que viajo mucho por tema de trabajo. Ubicado ademas en uno de los pueblos mas bonitos de de España. Personal muy atento desde el momento del check-in. Especial mencion a Marta en recepcion ! Muy recomendable.

Contratamos el Hotel entrando el domingo para salir el sábado. Desayuno incluido y un día de spa. En plena temporada alta. Hace dos días cuando llegamos a la habitación nos encontramos que la clavija del cable del cargador del móvil estaba partida informamos en recepción y la contestación es que dudan mucho de que se haya roto en nuestra ausencia. Hoy hemos ido a preguntar que qué va a pasar con el tema del cable y nos contesta que es su palabra contra la nuestra. Es la primera vez que un Hotel nos ponen de mentirosos. Y me parece de una torpeza enorme y de una falta de respeto hacia el cliente inaudita que piensen que dejando una factura superior a 1000 € nosotros estemos buscando Ahorrarnos 15 o 20 € que vale el cable. El cable lo compraremos nosotros porque no nos va a suponer ningún desembolso extraordinario en el presupuesto que teníamos para esta semana. Y lo que te puede estropear una estancia no es un incidente como un cable, sino un servicio descarado, insensible , y lejos de cualquier lógica de atención al cliente en una empresa de servicios, como es un Hotel

Muy justito para 4*.... Habitaciones bastante simples pero correctas. Hay detalles que se podrian pulir (limpieza, restauracion de desperfectos o mantenimiento...) Lo mas reseñable, y para mal: - Olor insoportable a tuberias en la habitacion (Suite). - Ruido excesivo a partir de las 7 de la mañana. Una excursión del Imserso ( en su linea, dicho sea de paso...)., familia con niños que tampoco entienden bien el concepto del descanso... Personal del complejo muy bien, amables, resolutivos... bien, por esto ninguna pega. No repetiremos porque entre el olor y loa ruidos descansamos poco y mal.

Excelente hotel. Habitaciones estupendas, bien decoradas, con baño reformado, cama muy confortable. La lencería muy bien y la limpieza impecable. Comida casera. Un spa muy bien cuidado. Yo más imprimir, la atención del personal maravillosa. Todos muy amables y profesionales. Repetiremos en este hotel seguro!
