My husband and I stayed at Altana as part of our honeymoon after a recommendation and we could not say enough wonderful things about our stay here! The location is perfect and less busy than Fira and Oia. The room and view were incredible especially with breakfast served to your patio each morning. Our room had a private plunge pool, which was perfect in September. Michael was very helpful with recommendations and coordinating our travel to and from the hotel. On our last night, we had the opportunity to speak with Christos, who was the kindest and shared many tips for traveling to Paros and Naxos. Because this hotel is family run, there is a genuineness and caring that you can feel throughout your stay. We cannot wait to come back! Ps. The food is fantastic too!!

The Altana is a hidden gem for visitors to Santorini - It is located in Imerovigli, a small town close to Fira. It is perfect because it is away from the crowded touristy areas of Fira, but close enough to get to them easily. Moreover, the view from this location is breathtaking - I believe it is the highest point on the caldera and every room has the most beautiful view! Our room was a standard but was so roomy with a sitting area, bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette - clean, bright, comfy. You are served a substantial breakfast (included in the cost) every morning on your outdoor balcony and there is a public pool (some rooms have small private pools). They also have a ground floor bistro for food and late night drinks - open to anyone. The host, Christos, and his staff are all so welcoming and friendly - you feel very well cared for! Christos has lots of great suggestions for dining, attractions, and just getting around the island. Would definitely return!!

We stayed for three nights and had an amazing experience at this very classy and unique boutique hotel! The owners are both super cool and all of their employees are helpful and incredibly informative and can guide you to all of the cool shops and restaurants. Our friends stayed in Oia but regretted it because it was crazy busy and when they came to check out our suite @ Altana, they were jealous because our suite had gorgeous views and very little foot traffic. We are already planning our next trip back to the island and look forward to staying here again :)

We stumbled across this restaurant on our first night in Santorini and instantly fell in love with it. We had a drink at the bar and chatted with the owner and bar staff. We enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we reserved a table for dinner for the following evening. The meal was delicious and the service was second to none! The owner was so knowledgeable about wines and food and the island and we loved listening to him all about the things he knew. We loved it here so much that we came for a glass of wine on our last night. This place is a hidden gem and would recommend this place to anyone. If you want a lovely meal with caldera views and great service then this is the place to come. If you come to Santorini you must go here.

We stayed three nights in a converted wine cellar, which we'd never had left except that there was a jacuzzi on our patio where we could soak in the panoramas of the caldera some 1,100 feet below. This was the best place I have stayed - mostly because of the exceptional care and subtle charms of Cristos and Marios, the second-generation twins who run the place, make excellent suggestions for overlooked outings,and preside over a cozy taverna where we wound up eating each night. It wasn't just their grandma's recipes, or their fine taste in Santorini whites (or others spanning the mainland). They have created the sort of vacation home one immediately schemes to return to. Five stars seem insufficient.

This has just been one of our most me memorable holidays we've had The hotel is simply stunning, the view you have over the Caldera is absolutely breathtaking. We stayed in a honeymoon suite with hot tub, we could easily spend 4 days on our balcony just looking out at that view. Breakfast was brought to us daily which was unbelievable. From the moment I looked at booking this hotel and Michael giving us prompt and great advice, to the porter who carried out luggage from the taxi up to our room. To the staff who brought food to us daily, cleaning staff who made sure everywhere was spotless... To Cristos who was like no other. Upon check in, he welcomed us and then spent a good 30 minutes or so asking us what our plans are, giving us his advice on things to do and when, restaurants to eat etc he really was another level and the whole staff here are an absolute credit to themselves. Thank you all so much for the past 4 days, that was simply an unforgettable time we had and we will one day return here. Thank you guys, we really could of stayed there forever. The best guest experience EVER!!! The are not enough compliments I can give to describe our stay. Every detail to make you feel comfortable and special is there. I dont want to give many details, not to spoil any guest surprise when the get there! Like for us that chose them out of the bunch from booking, and really hit the jackpot here! A word apart for the staff that are really great, and specially the owners Mario and Christos who run the place and give their customer's a really friendly royal treatment! If you believe as I do that hapiness is really achieved on experiences, this is the place to go! The only negative, is they left the bar so high, that from now on, every other hotel experience won't ever feel complete.

This was by far the best place I have ever stayed in my life! My wife and I chose Altana for our honeymoon, and it exceeded all our expectations. When we arrived, we were greeted with drinks and an amazing description of the island, along with recommendations for restaurants and activities. To our delight, we were upgraded to an incredible suite with a caldera-viewing plunge pool and an incredibly spacious and beautiful room. Breakfast was served on our balcony, allowing us to enjoy private time in the mornings to soak in the beauty of the caldera. Being only a few steps down from the Fira-Oia trail, our room was incredibly private yet proximal to the main walking area. The reception and concierge team were not only incredibly helpful but also personable and charismatic. They were always available to assist with anything we needed and did everything to ensure we enjoyed our stay. They even adjusted the temperature of our plunge pool to ensure it was perfectly comfortable for us. I would highly recommend Altana to anyone visiting Santorini. We are already looking forward to our next stay at this wonderful place.
