What a lovely hotel. We were so impressed with Kostas, the hotel manager, he could not have been more friendly, jovial and willing to help. He recognised us again after meeting him for the first time, and waved each morning as we were having breakfast! Lovely. He invited us into the travel agency room when we first met him, and gave us a suggested list of things to do and places to visit whilst there, breaking the week down, and advising us of the busiest times, and therefore when to try to aim to arrive - and leave, obviously the boats arrive at certain times, and that suddently makes the island very busy. It was good to know the best times to be at certain places. He arranged a 2 day car hire for us which was a swift process, and made our week a lot easier. Kostas recommended we plan to visit the Lighthouse to watch the sun set. This was a beautiful experience. The pool is lovely at the hotel, was busy enough while we were there, but not absolutely 'bustling' as you find in many other hotels. Our room was cleaned daily, towels replaced etc. The air con in the rooms is very welcome after a long day around the pool, or out visiting in the high temperatures. We had various friendly cats and their kittens come to visit our balcony most days, which was certainly a highlight! Loved to see them, it helped to make our week! The pool restaurant was lovely, gorgeous meals, and we were often offered an after meal mini sweet treat, which was great to sample. Very pleasant pool restaurant staff. I think one of the things which stood out to me, (to all of us), was the standard of cleanliness. Could not fault this hotel, pristine, and that is something which I love. Overall, a wonderful week away with friends in a very comfortable, pleasant and friendly hotel. Would definitely recommend to others, and would be more than happy to visit again. Thank you Kostas, Hotel Mathios Village, and staff. Caroline.
