Hotel Palace do Capitao

First time traveling Portugal! Came here tonight and already rating 5 stars experience! From the treating at the door of this hotel, to the dining of the restaurant here, it’s the best experience of this trip! The food is amazing, served by the cook himself! Very pleasant guy, very good professional! We highly recommend visiting their hotel and restaurant!

Horrible Horrible Horrible!!! The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing!!!! We submitted our cancellation request inside the time frame allowed to request cancellation due to illness. We were ignored and instead were charged ! I highly recommend you consider the many other wonderful hotelier options throughout this area where you will be well respected and attended . This hotel needs to become more guest friendly and communicate better amongst the three whom run the establishment. A big disappointment!!!! Do not leave your credit card information as they will take advantage of you!

Quite the restaurant experience, a taste of fine dining in Sao Martinho do Porto!! While predominantly advertised as a hotel, the Green Room restaurant offers up an almost Michelin recommended experience…not Michelin star level but reasonably priced menu options available or simply a fascinating a la carte variation. Very good wine selection to accompany some interesting and innovative taste blends across all courses…beetroot panna cotta with a goat cheese ice cream, sounds wrong but blended just right! Service was excellent, from being greeted on the steps of the hotel to the farewell from the chef….a wonderful combination of excellent service and cuisine, a must try!

We loved the hotel. The staff were friendly and so helpful. The breakfast is probably the best we’ve had in a hotel, and all served up to your table. The hotel itself is delightful, from the sea view from the restaurant and bar, to the individually tailored bedrooms, and beautifully designed, in a mix of traditional Portuguese and modern. Drinking the exquisite cocktails in the terrace bar was a highlight. And it’s only a few metres from the sea, so you wake to the sound of waves, and can pop out for a morning swim before breakfast or any time of the day. I would really recommend Storytellers as a place to stay.

We went to the restaurant on a rainy day and had an amazing lunch in a cozy room over looking the bay. The chef sat with us and helped order. The food was delicious the wine selections perfect. And the view was gorgeous, staff is amazing - beautiful hotel too.

The Storytellers palace is a small boutique hotel in Sao Martinho. I would say the perfect location- across the street is the beach The staff was helpful and kind. Unfortunately we didn't eat any meals at the hotel but we did hear great things about the high tea.
