Been to this hotel's restaurant a couple times already and really must recommend. The service staff are genuinely sweet and offer top-notch service especially to tourists. The food is consistently high quality, beautifully plated, piping-hot, fresh and enjoyable. I have just not even been slightly disappointed with this restaurant. Yesterday, my husband and I dined on Schnitzel and fries... crispy schnitzel, excellent, hot fries and some insanely mouthwatering ice-cream creations for dessert. Looking forward to trying their weekly lunch specials which are reasonably priced for Swiss standards. Their outdoor seating patio is comfortable and perfect for people-watching in this delightful city in Central Switzerland.

It is actually a nice hotel, with no underground parking, very small, sometimes extremely dark rooms with little storage space. There is no air conditioning, especially in summer (the accumulated heat stays in there at night too...). The bathroom is tiny, with a shower for only very, very slim people. The breakfast is plentiful and the dinner is good, but both with only satisfactory service. Later in the evening, after 10 p.m., there was no willingness to go the extra mile for the guests (the ice for drinks was already in the cellar)... The gourmet menu with 4 simple courses and 3 dl glass of wine was also served rather carelessly. One positive thing to mention is the small but practically designed wellness area.

I have been visiting "the Krone" for years when I have to go to Sarnen for work. A great hotel with friendly, helpful and warm staff. The manager, service and reception... always perfect for me! I really appreciate that! Nice, clean rooms. The breakfast buffet with fresh and regional products is wonderful. Dinner at the Krone is a highlight! I always enjoy coming back.

Accommodation, catering, service, cleanliness - everything to our complete satisfaction. Lots of cultural activities, very innovative host. Rooms are absolutely quiet despite facing the street. Highly recommended for a relaxing weekend or more! A big BRAVO to the staff - especially the Obwalden lady at breakfast!

Auf der Durchreise haben wir ohne Reservation zu dritt einen schönen Tisch am Fenster bekommen. Wir haben je zwei Vorspeisen bestellt. Die Kürbiscremesuppe und die Süsskartoffelsuppe mit Riesencrevetten kamen sehr heiss auf den Tisch und waren geschmacklich hervorragend. Die gedämpften Spinatknödel mit Bergkäse wie auch der Rettichsalat mit Feigen waren eine wunderbare Geschmackssymphonie, kaum zu übertreffen. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und obwohl sie viele Tische allein betreute, sehr freundlich und schnell. Das nächste Mal kommen wir mit grösserem Hunger! Die stilvolle Einrichtung hat uns auch sehr gut gefallen.

Das war positiv: - schönes Bad - Wunsch nach Zimmer mit Balkon wurde beachtet - schöne, moderne Restaurant-Terrasse - teilweise sehr freundliche Angestellte - Frühstück ist gut - Parkplatz war gratis dazu Negativ: - teilweise sehr schlecht gelaunte Angestellte - Kunst im Hotel ist eher störend - allgemein sehr inhomogenes Design - Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht ganz - Abendessen im Restaurant und Roomservice war eher enttäuschend (Salat mit braunen Rändern und nicht mehr knackig sowie Rahm auf Coupe Dänemark war wie Butterklümpchen im Wasser) - jede Nacht zog Zigarettenrauch ins Zimmer - aber ohne offenes Fenster wäre das Zimmer eine Sauna gewesen
