Domaine de Châteauvieux

The hotel is perfect after a lovely evening spent at the restaurant. No equipment is missing from the room which is well kept. The service is fast and efficient. The bedding is good and pleasant. Breakfast is excellent. In summary, I recommend this hotel.

If the place itself (just 15 minutes by car from the center of Geneva but in the countryside) were not enough, the comfort of the accommodation and, above all, the restaurants - not only does it have 2 Michelin stars but probably the best car of cheeses from all over Switzerland - and the service make it an unforgettable experience. Above all, we should highlight the professionalism of Claude, attentive to everything at the table and the service but without going overboard, and the enthusiasm and friendliness of Guillaume, the young sommelier.

Even the drive through the vineyards is special. The small hotel above Geneva is a jewel high above the Rhone. The staff is friendly and the rooms meet hotel standards. The breakfast buffet impresses with local specialties.

Doesn't do what it promises. View of the Rhone and industry, aircraft noise, not a place of peace. Small rooms, even smaller shower. The breakfast is average, no fruit, no fruits. The staff is overwhelmed. Just the desire to rent the bikes was too much. Despite registration, the bikes were not ready to ride. During the 4 day stay, it was only on the last day that there were chairs for the tables, which were standing around uselessly outside in the very beautiful courtyard. The benches in the sun were full of bird droppings and were never cleaned, making them unusable. The seating areas were only uncovered after a complaint on the third day (not just shortly after lunch for restaurant guests), so that we as guests finally had somewhere to sit outside. Previously it was limited to three lounge chairs, which were also dirty with bird droppings. The restaurant staff ignored us as hotel guests outside. The paying restaurant guests are important, they are well served and the food is good, although very expensive. The restaurant is an experience, but as a hotel guest you are not noticed. Doesn't deserve the many stars. Not suitable for holidays. The couples spa mentioned is limited to an in-room whirlpool tub.

Un endroit magnifique et paisible. Le personnel est aux petits soins, je recommande vivement et reviendrai séjourner avec plaisir!

Nous avons séjourné au mois de juin 2024 au domaine de Châteauvieux après avoir mangé dans leur restaurant. Les chambres sont cosy, propres et relativement bien décorées en gardant la typicité du lieu. Elles sont somme toutes assez vieillottes et surtout (très) mal insonorisées (nous vivions avec nos voisins). La vue est belle et le lieu charmant. Au delà ce ça, je dois relater une grosse déception le matin au petit-déjeuner. Tout d'abord, quand bien même ce sont des produits locaux et de qualité, l'offre était relativement faible au niveau du choix et de la quantité. Fait étrange, à 8h45, il n'y avait plus de jus d'oranges, dixit le jeune homme qui faisait le service et ce dernier a contribué à une mauvaise expérience durant tout notre petit-déj. Aucune autre boisson froide ne nous a été proposée en remplacement du jus d'oranges ! Etrange. Par ailleurs, les tables n'étaient pas préparées et le serveur les préparait à fur et à mesure des arrivées (nous n'étions que trois tables... tôt un dimanche matin!), il faisait un bruit fou en débarrassant et en remplissant ce qui semblait être un lave-vaisselle et il a agressé un couple de sexagénaires qui voulait s'installer à une table non encore dressée avec un ton qui fait que le Monsieur a dû intervenir (à juste titre) avec lui-même un ton dur pour lui expliquer qu'on ne parlait pas ainsi à des clients. Par ailleurs, au lieu de s'occuper de la gestion de la salle, ce serveur préférait utiliser son téléphone portable pour envoyer des messages. Ce jeune homme n'a rien à faire dans ce monde du service et je l'ai signifié à la réception lors de notre départ (j'ai sûrement pas été le seul au vu des échanges de regards avec les autres tables). Dommage.
