Avalanche - Alpine Boutique Hotel

Best cocktail bar in town by miles!! Annual ski trip took us to Italy this year and we found an absolute gem! Right off the end of the piste, perfect place for a few beers and Whiskey Sours! Massimo (boss) was fantastic, really accommodating and couldn’t have done more for us. Cocktails by Aldo (a master) were top level. Between us we had most of the cocktail menu and each one was spot on……although the whiskey sour was my personal favourite. We ended up stopping there 3 times; 2 apres and a lunch, brilliant experience at each visit. Decor is perfect, we didn’t stay this time but next time it’s top of the list.

What an amazing hotel …… Location is a stones throw from the Clotes ski ⛷️ chair lift, a 2 minute walk into the heart of Sauze. The bedrooms are furnished to a very high, authentic style fitting to the environment. The newly constructed bar area is a great place to relax and drink …..the whole hotel is amazing Totally recommend to anyone

We did think that the hotel would be finished by the time we stopped there, but this is not the case and won't be until May. We have been stopping in Sauze for many years and like to stop at different places to test them out. Two weeks prior we were in one of the ABC apartments. The employees are very friendly and make you feel welcomed and helpful, but we do know Sauze so that helps. Hence us booking on the slope refurbished hotel. They gave us a room over looking Sauze and facing the sun in the afternoon, with a balcony which was nice. But the room was very small and felt very cramped. Minor touches to detail with the cleaning:- please dust the radiator in the bathroom. However there is soap, shower gel and caps. There is a free hot drinks machine in reception which has amazing hot chocolate. It's disappointing that you have to go to Hotel Clotes next door for breakfast, but we knew what to expect as we have stopped there twice before. Get the timing right for breakfast, otherwise it gets very busy for a small area. The staff are quick at cleaning up the tables though. I would not recommend going the back way across the mud, its' a bit of a hazard, go down the end of the drive and walk a bit further. The breakfast has it's usual european average breakfast. The hotel do not have a ski room at present, so it's not a ski in and out which was disappointing considering it's on the slope. The give you a locker under the Clotes lift which you ar4e able to put skis, boots and helmet in. It's only a small walk to go to it, all good for a warm up and cool down before and after skiing. Looking forward to going back next week though with our daughter and boyfriend. Hoping that we get a bigger room! A car parking space and it's not so busy at breakfast!

Great refurbishment of the hotel. Stayed in a twin room. The room could do with a mirror outside of the bathroom, otherwise very comfortable and spacious. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Once the bar and restaurant are built, this hotel will be a great place to stay (convenient being so close to the Clotes lift)

Fantastic location, great staff, A brand new hotel with a few small improvements that can be made, However it is a beautiful hotel, you can walk across the slope to the chair lift in 2 mins Good value , very cozy , Will be superb when the bar /terrace is built Enjoyed our stay very much

An amazing hotel, fab location for the lift and town center. Ioana and Rasvan, the hotel mgt, were fantastic, especially when we had a medical emergency to deal with. Rooms are small but stunning, will be back!
