Another lovely stay at the Almar Hotel (our second time this year). As always, Julie and John made our long weekend break extra special. We enjoyed three great evenings in the bar and delicious breakfasts every morning. Can’t wait for our next trip to Scarborough, we will be back soon.

Always the warmest of welcome when you arrive. Location perfect. Breakfast menu is very varied. Rooms are clean and comfy with refreshments provided Nothing is too much trouble for Julie and John. Would definitely recommend. We will be back again.

We have stayed at the Almar a few times now and always have such a lovely experience. Reading through a selection of reviews on Tripadvisor it is very clear to see why this is such a highly rated establishment. Very difficult to write anything else that hasn’t already been said. Julie and John make everyone welcome and nothing is too much trouble and it is true you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend. They try to make your stay as homely as possible, the added bonus being they are also excellent hosts as well. Met some really friendky guests in the bar during the evening and some really enjoyable conversations.

First time we have stayed in Scarborough and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay, Julie and John were great hosts, delicious breakfast and spotlessly clean room, nice and peaceful for a great nights sleep, the Almar is in a great location, Peasholm Park just around the corner, North Bay easy to walk too, would definitely recommend to family and friends and will be staying again.

Stayed here many times, cannot fault it any way, spotless room, comfy bed and a Breakfast to die for. Its location is ideal for the beach and the town centre. John and Julie make you feel at ease as soon as you meet them. as we only 70 ish miles away its ideal for short breaks.

Just enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at this lovely guest house.Greeted on arrival by hosts John & Julie,who are so friendly and accommodating.The room was spacious,warm and very comfortable.The breakfast was superb,with good choices,and we enjoyed our time spent at the bar on an evening.Nothing is too much trouble to John & Julie,who take great pride in what they do.Thankyou..Andy & Angela xx

First time to the almar. I went down with my mum as we had a funeral. My mum has been there a few times. John and julie are really nice hosts. Very attentitive and polite. I cant fault them. I had a single room which was perfect for what i needed. Modern equipment like tv and electric shower. Also had a fan and mini heater. Slept well took a while for me to sleep but thats new surroundings for me. Nothing to do with the room. Breakfast was fantastic all fresh and cooked brilliantly. Will definatly be back at some point. Booked this last minute and what a find. Hosts John & Julie were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was absolutely superb and piping hot as it was freshly cooked to order. There was also Yoghurt, fresh fruit and cereals available and specials which John told us about. Room was very clean and plentiful tea coffee and biscuits available. There is a nice bar to have a drink and socialise after a long day. This is a fantastic place to stay in Scarborough, give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.
