Marina di Scarlino Resort

June 2020 trip We chartered a 46 foot yacht from this marina in Tuscany in 2020. Although it was in the midst of the pandemic, we were grateful for Tuscany to allow chartering. We were not disappointed. The marina was very professional in its approach to COVID and our yacht was in very good shape. Very comfortable for just 2 people. We had a lovely week sailing her in and around Elba and the coastline. The weather was perfect and the marina was modern and stylish with restaurants, pool and all the modern amentias you could hope for.

Our 3rd visit to the Marina. We stayed for a week in a duplex overlooking the sea. The apartments are beautifully appointed, modern and fresh, as you’d expect from its connection to the Ferragamo family. Two bathrooms and bedrooms with daily housekeeping service. Excellent air con, kitchen area and most of all the balconies/terraces. Three in total. The one at the side of the apartment was large, private, with dining area, and sun beds, again looking over the Marina. The reception team are friendly and welcoming. The pool/s are great for relaxing with option to reserve your sun beds or cabana area the night before. The beach is only a 5 minute walk although you need to pay for a sun bed, but there is a small free public area. The sea is great for snorkelling although recommend something for your feet as quite a few sea urchins. The Marina has various restaurants on site as well as a small supermarket and shops. It’s an excellent place to visit and stay as a family. It’s very popular with Italians and the restaurants are busy at the weekends but easy to book a table. Zero Distanze does takeaways (eg pizza) and the food at Doga is also excellent. Prices are also reasonable. Follonica is only 5-10 drive away with an excellent Coop Supermarket and restaurants. The resort has a lovely relaxed feel, and we would happily return again and again

Spent one week in this resort. The property including the Marina is amazing, brand new and we'll maintained. We had a luxury suite that is surely worth the monies you pay for it; really appreciated the kitchen corner fully equipped that give you the option in case to cook something by yourself skipping the restaurants that are probably the weak point of this resort. Resort Personnel is very attentive, kind and friendly. Suite is large with a modern bathroom and a huge equipped Terrance . Appreciated the daily complimentary refurbishment of soft drink and water , everything of quality. Passing to the cons I would stress breakfast and generally the restaurants in the Marina. Breakfast is ok but if you used to have a hot breakfast (i.e eggs, bacon sausages etc) choice is limited. Restaurants in the Marina (where you can go in case of HB Plan) are nice locations but quality of food is not adeguate, to the place and to the price paid. probably the best is the pizzeria ZERO. other than this a valid alternative if you are looking for a real and true 4 stars resort in this part of Italy.

We had a very pleasant stay here on our way from Florence to Rome. Such a nice resort and you don't need to go out of it since it has multiple restaurants. The pool area and harbor view is something we loved. Very nice resort, we will hopefully be back soon!

We were at a wedding near Sienna in July so looked for a place on the coast for afterwards and found Marina Di Scarlino - checked reviews and at around £300 a night with partial views of the marina and sea seemed a good deal. The apartment / hotel is around 50m with an enormous patio with great views and enough shade to enjoy breakfast outside. The room/apartment is serviced daily. There is a good double bedroom - excellent mattress and v good pillows. A lovely bathroom with a walk in shower and plenty of v good amenities! The living room spacious with a sofa bed if required and a reasonably well equipped kitchen. Note shared washing facilities close by and charged at 5Euro for a wash and the same for the drier or simply fill in a laundry form and they sort for you. All air conditioned and generally in very good order. If I was to criticise anything - the shower walls and grouting need extra attention from the cleans as seeing a film of red/ orange - a typical build up of soap products, but that’s just being picky! All in all excellent standard. There is a small supermarket on site and some pleasant restaurants all within meters. The pool area also outstanding as was the service from all the staff there including the attentive pool man who often moved our parasol to keep us in the shade. However I must mention the outstanding customer service by the concierge were amazing and incredibly helpful in all aspects - particular thanks to Laurendarna! It’s been a lovely 5 days - recommend a restaurant in the hills nearby called Al Convento. Trying another one recommended tonight in Follonica by the concierge. There is a Michelin star restaurant in Follonica but was full!
