Very welcoming, friendly and happy people the Germans ate. It is a beautiful place, cold I am not used to this sort of weather. I come from Namibia 🇳🇦 I am not a German speaker, but they make sure to communicate with me the best way they can. I love this place, beautiful roons, great food, service is of the hook. Friendly employees and customers.

Excellent place to stay. We stayed as a family with 2 teenage boys to see the Neuschwanstein castle. They offer free bike rentals which helped out a lot because we were able to bike to the bus that goes up the hill and it also gave us something to do as a family in the evening, which was to ride down to the lake. Excellent staff.

We were staying in Hohenschwangua close to both castles and was told that Schwangau had plenty of restaurants. All looked pretty full so we decided to park the car and walk around the main street to find a restaurant, most places need reservations or were full, one place recommended Helmer Hotel & Restaurant which was just one street off the main road. We were lucky enough they had room. Service was good and the meal was ok. I went for the croquette and schnitzel but found I could taste the oil in both. There was a self serve salad bar which was very good. The location was ideal and the restaurant was nice and cozy. I believe there was a wedding or event going on in one of their banquet rooms.

Great hotel, Food, Experience with Hotel Helmer in Mittledorf Germany. Excellent Apple Strudel, minutes drive to Neuschwanstein Castle, close to Mountain Zugspitze (Highest mountain in Germany). This is a great family run hotel and very family friendly.

Good: - beautiful hotel and rooms - clean and large rooms - good breakfast Bad: - tv on the smaller size and no streaming - music during the breakfast (90’s pop) was totally out of theme with the Tiroler hotel All in all, well run hotel that’s very tastefully decorated and with a decent kitchen. Just the finishing touch is still missing at the moment.
