What a fabulous Public House, from the very first warm welcome as soon as we entered to the goodbye we received 8 hours later. The food was some of the best pub grub we have ever had, a great selection of drinks, a lovely vibe and a warm cost atmosphere, will certainly be sure to visit again soon, a great pub on every level, thank you.

We went for Sunday lunch but had to wait 50 minutes to get it even though we had booked a table. Food was awful, dry Yorkshire puddings rock hard roast potatoes, bland veg, just awful. Dreadful service, will not be going back. Very different to the night time.

Based on the food this was 5/5. Very busy on a Wednesday lunch time!!, so be sure to book. Old school need to ring up, also website not the best but ?? if you know you know…. It’s a big place so you could probably go there on spec, certainly as a couple, any more might be a challenge. My Pork Stroganoff was perfect….

We spent two nights here as we were going to Sedgefield Races. This is a traditional pub with good home cooking and a good selection of beers and other drinks. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but excellent value at £80 for B&B. The staff were, without exception, friendly and efficient. The Dun Cow seems to be a fixture in the community as the extensive dining room and bar were full on a Tuesday evening and many people also seemed to pop in for morning coffees or lunch. Special thanks go to Mark, the chef, who drove us to the races on a wet day!

I never normally write reviews but in this case it's a must. My cousin suggested the dun cow inn after doing a family tree & finding out our 3rd time grandmother had worked there. The food was absolutely amazing especially the chips & the service from the staff was really good too. I would definitely recommend the dun cow inn

We decided to go for Easter Sunday dinner after driving past the week before and seeing how busy it was. We had the Lamb and the Turkey both very nice. The only down side was the bowl of Veg that came was probably only enough for myself never mind two of us. It was busy so after a ten minute wait decided against pudding. Will defo be back for another visit soon

I had a great little stay in this traditional hotel. I was immediately impressed to be informed that they would go out and buy gluten free bread and sausages for my breakfasts when I told them of my intolerance. Going by the busyness of the restaurant each night it must be a very good place to eat (I only got to eat an evening meal once due to my work, my loss). The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout.
