The place was very good and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The owner can speak English very well. Although the location is in a rural place it's very close to lot's of beautiful tourist sites.

Solo hiking the Jeju Olle and I secured a room at Blue Island Guesthouse on a very windy night where pitching my tent proved to be impossible. Such a lovely and well run property. I’m so glad to have met Mr Choi and his wife. Mr Choi was a great resource for information and recommended a famous raw fish restaurant that proved to be excellent. My room was very clean. Very comfortable. Good provisions. Excellent breakfast and the opportunity to eat authentic cuisine with 2 other guests.

Stayed here for three nights -- booked two rooms for me and my three adult kids. You will definitely need your car's GPS to find this charming guesthouse in a quiet, residential neighborhood. Mr. Choi and his wife are delightful, welcoming hosts. He has a lot of good advice on sites to see in the area, and she cooks a lovely Korean-style breakfast in the mornings. They have a lovely garden that you can wander around in, and there are some semi-feral cats and kittens living on the property who are fairly friendly. The rooms are well-appointed and spotlessly clean, with AC and flat-screen TVs (we didn't watch; too busy exploring Jeju!). There is a fridge and a cooktop and cooking equipment if you want to make a meal. The house is a two-minute walk to the ocean, which is a lava-rock coast, so not swimmable, but very scenic. Several good restaurants are nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Island and would definitely return in the future!

What was good: The owner and his wife are very friendly and seem to do their best for the convenience of the guests. The accommodations and other facilities are simple and basic level (it's a guesthouse!), but most everything you need is there and the rooms and bathrooms are clean. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, towels, dryers, etc. are provided. We didn't use it, but there is an electric car charger so it would be convenient. The neighborhood is quiet and the beach is close, so it's great to take a walk when you have time. I was worried because I was taking my parents with me, but I chose it after seeing reviews that adults also liked it, and my parents liked some things about it more than the hotel they stayed at the other day. Above all, considering the price range, I wonder if you can find accommodation that is more cost-effective than this. What was disappointing: You should keep in mind that in the case of family rooms, there is no bed and you sleep on a mat on the floor. The breakfast menu seems to change from time to time. After meals, guests must wash their own dishes. It's not a complaint at all, but I think it would be good if you notified me in the description in advance.
