There are many positives of this hotel. The grounds are magnificent, set amidst the cerulean blue ocean, grand palm trees and white sand beaches. The room itself was wonderful, large, modern and always clean. The food was also top notch, with three different restaurants to choose from (Italian, Japanese and Creole). The Spa is great. BUT… The service is absolutely horrible. This isn’t a reflection of the staff’s attitudes which were mostly very friendly, smiley and would greet you with “good mornings” and “good evenings”. It was more their complete lack of willingness to serve you or to wait on you which is mind blowing and not what you expect when you walk into a 5-star resort. You are told that the staff is on “island time” however when it’s 90degrees and you are gasping for water it is truly unacceptable. You very much have to fend for yourself if you want anything at Mango House. It is almost like the staff have no experience in hospitality; I have truly never been somewhere where the staff don’t wait on you by the pool or simply ignore you. There also seems to be a complete lack of soul at this hotel. Management are obsessed with the influencer and VIP guests that stay that anyone else is second fiddle. The one redeeming staff member is Thomas - he is amazing!! He went out of his way to make sure all pool guests were waited on, hydrated, and satisfied. If only all of the staff were like Thomas!! All in all I had a lovely stay here, truly. The slowness and lack of attentiveness of the staff wasn’t enough to detract from our visit. A few tips: the wait staff needs a complete overhaul and the hotel needs more offerings like water sports.
