The overall experience of staying in this hotel is superb, which perfectly fits its concept of antique style, inheritance of ancient buildings and luxurious and high-quality service. The service staff is first-class, whether it is the Thai masseur of the SPA, the caring housekeeper Brenda, the tea service staff, or the introducer Goerge who explains the ancient buildings in detail, they are all responsive and make people feel caring. The housekeeper Brenda helped me with all my requests in a timely manner. The service is very professional. The small courtyard with the room is unique, but the flowers and plants in the courtyard are too heavily trimmed. If it can be more natural, the taste will be better. In addition, it is recommended to use a more sophisticated teapot for tea sets, which is matched with the rare quiet and retro environment of the study. The ancient buildings of the hotel are undoubtedly the biggest highlight. Walking through them, it seems to travel through time and space, full of ancient charm. Highly recommended to friends who pursue high-quality and quaint accommodation experience!

The hotel service is exceptional. Calling for room service was quick and the staff are very polite and friendly. The bed are very clean and you have the option of choosing the type of pillow you want. Location is fantastic as it is near the main shopping street. Besides it is a subway which makes travelling around so convenient. Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Shanghai.

This is the 3rd stay of ours since June when we actually did stay twice. Being impressed therefrom, we decided to stay again in this impressive hotel this time. This is an excellent hotel with amazing and friendly service and clean rooms. There is no smell of smoke anywhere--not in the lobby, hallway, nor room itself! Everyone is super friendly, ready to help wit luggage, etc. The only drawback (or possible benefit, if this is the type of bed you like) is that the mattress is a little hard (it is not a super soft mattress). The pillow menu that comes with the hotel is fantastic and you really get to feel like home because of it! Also, though it is in a lively area (the French Concession), it is also very clean and quiet! It is in a very central location with the South Shaanxi Subway station right outside serving lines 1, 8, 10, meaning you can get to the Shanghai Station (train) for any trips you want to go on very easily. It is also close to iapm if you want to shop; just down the street! One slight drawback is that in the room we stayed in, the water in the shower head does not get as hot as the water that comes from that faucet in the bathtub. I had to switch to a different room after my friend left and the water temperature was fine, so maybe it was just that room in particular.

Hotel is really clean and the decor is really nice. Stayed here quite a few times. Staff are helpful and will help you with any issues you have. Gym is good and has a indoor pool and steam room all of which are of good standard. Breakfast is ok but to be honest theres a-lot of breakfast spots nearby which I would recommend over the hotel. They do do alcohol and coffee in the hotel but like I say better options outside and the selection isn’t great at the hotel. Overall its not a bad place to stay I used to love it but the price has crept up over the last few years and its in the price range of better hotels now. It’s a really good hotel if you get a good deal on a price or actually if your getting off at Shanghai station and just want to get to your hotel quick. Overall not bad.

I made the wrong date, manager MIKE and CAROL and NANCY helped me correct the date then I could check in smoothly. The room was very clean and the Bund view was beautiful. Breakfast was good. Thank you very much. I will stay in Conrad again next time I come to Shanghai！

During our stay at the Shanghai Kempinski, the hotel staff May Xiong & Billy Du both went above and beyond expectation. They would always greet us and ensured that our experience felt just like home. From the moment we checked in, every member of the front desk was welcoming and responded really quickly to all our inquiry’s or requests. The housekeeping team did an amazing job of keeping our room clean and comfortable throughout our stay. We really appreciated their attention to detail and the extra care they put into making sure everything was perfect. Overall, I would definitely consider coming back to this hotel during my visit in Shanghai. Hotel is at a good location, close to metro and the bund. Walkable distance to food areas and shuttle to the airport. There’s also a kitchen where you can cook if you want some clean food at home. We cannot thank them enough for making our stay truly memorable. We will definitely bring our kids back again! Jennifer

Overall great experience. Great location and amenities. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast options. Friendly staff. A little bit of air con noise and bed is a bit on the firm side but tolerable. We stayed in a family room and it would be great to have a children’s stepping stool for washing hands etc. Also make sure you bring enough clothes. Laundry service is very expensive and takes 2 days on average.
