Came to this store again, it is as good as before. This house is less than 100 away from the Financial Tribunal of Pudong Court. The location is very convenient. The store prints a certain amount of documents for free. It is very friendly to lawyers and has a warm service attitude. I didn't have time to eat in the morning, and the waiter enthusiastically helped to pack and send snacks. We had an enjoyable stay at this Shanghai hotel. Centrally located on the bustling Nanjing East Road pedestrian walkway, it’s a breeze to find. Housed in an established building, the vibe feels solid. Staff were generally helpful, and ready to assist. Our room was clean, functional, though a tad warm—possibly due to some override rules. Everything worked as expected for a reliable city stay. Perfect for travelers wanting a convenient base in Shanghai’s heart. Downside was there were scavengers approaching upon our arrival by taxi at hotel lobby. Staff didn't stop them. Would recommend for a generally no-fuss, well-placed hotel experience.

My family stayed at this hotel for our Shanghai city tour. The hotel check-in was done by the staff member, ‘William’, and he accepted my daughter’s request to stay in a high-rise room, which was very nice. The location of this hotel is also very good, so I would like to visit again on my next trip to Shanghai.

Such a well-maintained, wonderfully located hotel. Good service all round . We checked in past midnight after a late flight & was so happy to have a spacious room with all the amenities you need for a great stay. The location is close to People’s Park yet not in the middle of the chaos . Hotel is attached to Agile Plaza & there are plenty of eateries & shopping at your doorstep. Use the exit towards the back of the lobby (next to Geographer) . My favourite Marriott stay & will definitely return.

I booked 2 rooms. Reception was kind enough to prepare the rooms side by side so that we can take care of our parents easily. Room was clean and spacious. The centralised heater provided was also great to keep the whole room warm as my parents were afraid of the cold. Tried the breakfast buffet on one day as it was raining, food options were not bad. Downstairs leads straight to Nanjing Street shopping malls. Very convenient. Highly recommended!

It was useful that trip tells you the size of the beds so that you can determine whether they’re big enough to share with children. Lots of the hotels say that children can stay free, but the beds are no way big enough. The shanghai garden hotel has 2x 1.2m single beds in a standard room, which is considered a small double in the uk, and was comfortable for my family of 4. We visited the swimming pool during our stay and it was very refreshing. Be advised it is mandatory to wear swim cap. Which will have to be purchased if you don’t have it. Breakfast was vast, lots of choice of Chinese, Japanese and western style. We particularly enjoyed 混沌汤, 点心。 Disappointed with the 包子, 生煎包 - which didn’t really have much filling, flavour, and 油条 - which wasn’t fluffy felt it was cooked from frozen. Particularly annoying when we were asked to pay the high full price for our small 12 year old and half price for 7 year old, rather than by height which is what other hotels do. They hardly ate anything! Consider being more family friendly!

Overall, the hotel was not bad, though the rooms were a bit old. The bed was very hard and didn’t meet the quality of a five-star hotel. The pillows were also very flat, making it really uncomfortable to sleep without proper head support. The hotel’s location was great—very convenient for traveling to all the tourist attractions. It’s right near Metro Line 1, Exit 5. However, if you’re carrying big luggage, be aware that Exit 5 has no escalator or lift! You’ll need to carry your bags up the stairs, which are quite high. You can take another exit with easier access, but it will require a longer walk.

Got a free upgrade to a bigger room with a great view of the Nanjing walking street and The Bund. Room is super spacious, ample of lights, very decent design, comfortable beds and two options of pillow hardness. Iron and iron board provided, love everything about the room. Breakfast choices is also satisfying. Located directly on the Nanjing walking street, 10mins walk from the Bund. The only downside is the elevator which you would need to change if you are staying at higher floors which might be confusing for the first few days of stay. Another thing is that we left our wallet in the safe box but there is no way to reach the hotel except from direct calling. They do not reply WeChat/email. This should be improved.
