"Hands down the best hotel you could find in Shangri-La! We received the warmest welcome imaginable, and the value for money is unbeatable. The location is incredibly strategic, situated right near the Dukezong Ancient City North Gate. It’s the perfect pick-up/drop-off point for any travel package or e-hailing ride. As a foreign traveler in China, communication can be a challenge, but the staff here speak basic English, are genuinely friendly, and go above and beyond to help. The amenities are top-notch. The best part is the floor/room heating—despite the freezing temperatures outside, we felt perfectly warm inside. They really thought of everything to make the high altitude comfortable: the room included an oxygen machine, portable heater, and humidifier. We would definitely stay here again. It was the flawless stay we were hoping for. Highly recommended!"

"The place and surrounding areas are beautiful. The room is as per described and it was nice. The toilet seat and flooring was heated which was useful when temperature dropped at night. Mike and team were welcoming and friendly. Buffet breakfast was decent and they will help to cook noodles for you if you want them. For our last day, we requested for the drop off service to the airport in the morning and Mike helped us with it. Highly recommend this place to anyone intending to stay in Shangri-la despite it being away from shops."

"Rooms were clean and beautiful. Bathroom was amazing (heater and heated toilet seats). The service was also welcoming and accommodating, with the owners being incredibly friendly. One area of improvement could be to have additional amenities such as luggage rack, a mirror outside the toilet, hand soap and body lotion. Nevertheless, the stay at this hotel was lovely, and the location is right at the perimeter of the Dukezong Ancient City, making it very convenient to explore. Take note that currently (28 Dec 2025) their dryers are not working well. It might be faster to just hang and air dry your clothes instead of waiting (took us a whole night to dry in the dryer). Nevertheless, this was a great stay, will consider staying here again."

"Very Nice Hotel with Friendly and Helpful staffs! Staffs helped to carry luggages up and when leaving, help to carry as well to car. Many shops around and it's inside Gu Zheng but car can still drive in! Plus point for location! Staff was nice and WeChat before we arrive and wait for us at the entrance and bring all our luggages down!!! Room is big, plentiful of bottle water and also us to feel free to take! And yes they have oxygen on request if you need! Just use wechat to communicate with them! Very easy! Will love to be back in this hotel!!"

"Holiday Inn lives up to expectations. Counter staff are well trained. My husband was having high altitude sickness and short of breath. The piped in oxygen was shut off during daytime. He called the counter staff and only after 3 times did they agreed to turn it on. However, maintenance staff did not respond fast enough. My husband had to personally go down and speak to the counter staff and express his unhappiness. Counter staff understood his unhappiness and personally apologized and confirmed everything is in order. Good damage control. Highly recommended hotel."

"The hotel is very well located for getting around the city. At the northern entrance to the old city, it offers excellent access on foot to this beautiful place. Being close to a main street, it also offers an excellent base for getting around using Didi. Regarding the hotel, it offers a cozy atmosphere and very comfortable rooms, with basic bathroom supplies. It is perfectly heated (I came in February with temperatures between 5° and -5° C), with a bed heater included. I only stayed one night, but it was really nice. Although the staff who attended me do not know English, it was not a problem to communicate using WeChat. Very friendly and helpful, they were always attentive to what I could ask. I would go back without thinking twice. I host there 10th of February 2025, traveller from Chile."

"The best hotel ever! I wish we stay longer but time is not on our side. The services is tiptop. Every staff in the hotel is very accommodating especially for us who dont speak Chinese. They help u with anything u need, shout out to our butler for being so wonderful. And they can pick u up from any station for FREE! they even have welcome drink for you. The view is to die for, even without the snow the view is spectacular, might come back when there is a snow. And yes i would 100% recommend anyone who wants to stay here. Everything is wonderful."
