Stayed here for a wedding that was being held on the island at a venue with only 12 rooms. As we weren't going to be around much we went for the cheaper end of the scale. First impressions were pretty good and it looks like some work has been done on the communal areas recently. All fairly basic, but still fairly nice. All changed when we went into the room though, looked like something from the 70s! Bed wasn't brilliant and the bathroom could have done with a refurb too. There was some confusion on checkout as the bill had been divided differently between the rooms compared to the original online booking, there was also some issues with paying on card (they were using a more consumer izettle machine not a proper commercial chip and pin device).

I was very impressed with the hotel I had a room with a balcony and sea view the hotel is well situated for the town and lift there is a bus stop yards from the hotel room was very nice cleaned everyday breakfast was buffet then they came and took your order for a hot breakfast tea and fresh toast

Stayed here for 10 days at the end of June and this was the 4th time we have been here. What a wonderful hotel with welcoming owners. It’s one of the cleanest hotels we’ve ever stayed in and the breakfasts are 10/10. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet holiday in the IOW. 100% coming again! Vicky and Richard :)

Nice clean hotel...our room was very basic and could really do with new furniture as very tatty. We also didn't have a wardrobe, just coat hangers with hooks on wall. The room however was clean, bed comfy and nice hot shower. Breakfast is good, nice choice of everything. Staff in hotel are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Hotel is a 5min walk to the lift that goes to the beach. 10min walk to old shanklin village. Would highly recommend the village inn for food, but you need to book. The Italian Pavarottis is also good. Quite a hilly area if mobility a problem. Would recommend, for the price

Very friendly hotel, especially the waitress at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble, she was very attentive and smiley! Hotel was super clean, only negatives for us were the shower was underpowered and the light outside our room stayed on all night, so not ideal if you're a light sleeper.

Excellent, quiet location half way between beach and town and also easy reach of the Shanklin Theatre. Ample parking. Really friendly welcome, spotlessly clean and lovely breakfast. They're getting all the important things right.

Excellent from start to end of our 4day break. Stayed at Marlborough twice last year also cannot fault the whole ambience. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Exceptional breakfast more than enough. Very clean hotel . Ample parking and above all pascal and his wife made us feel at home. Would highly recommend

Very friendly hotel, the staff were on hand the whole time and answered any questions that we had. Rooms were small but clean and bright. Bathroom was compact especially the shower cubicle but clean. The breakfast was AMAZING, the best selection of buffet and cooked breakfast we have ever had. Nothing was too much trouble, excellent friendly service. The perfect hotel for a short stay with Shanklin Chine, high street and beach within walking distance.
