Mai Tai Resort

We had a phenomenal stay at the Mai Tai. Not only were the views incredible; the room super romantic (with a very cool outdoor tropical shower); and the location perfect for exploring the Great Barrier Reef, Mossman Gorge, and the Daintree Rainforest; Andre (the host) was so warm and welcoming that we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a serene and romantic stay in the most gorgeous rainforest location.

In hills 15 min outside port douglas---wonderful views. Rooms large and comfortable, clean and well laid out. Great breakfast and Pool area. Andre host very nice and helpful. Only a few rooms so quiet and calm--perfect for unwind--will go again!

A special gem in the top of the rainforest. I had a restful and peaceful stay there while in deployment working at Mossman. The place is very well looked after and you can feel the and care devoted to it. You feel immersed in the rainforest and have astonishing views to mountains and ocean. Lovely private breakfast table with tropical fruits and warm croissants. Andre’s hospitality is one of a kind. If you need quiet and tranquil, I am sure you can find it there. Very short drive from Mossman and Port Douglas, easy to get to shops, restaurants and touristic spots if you wish. Super recommend this place!

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome & comfortable, Andre was/is a wonderful host so helpful with arranging tours for us to recommending where to dine, nothing was too much trouble. Simply a great place to stay relax & unwind & only 15 mins out of Port Douglas

Mai Tai resort came highly recommended by a personal friend and the experience she described perfectly fit the exceptional stay I had. This hidden gem is tucked away in the beautiful hills of Port Douglas overlooking the breathtaking views of mountains meeting the ocean surrounded by the lush greenery of the rainforest. My lovely host, Andre, took care of every detail from ensuring the room was pristine, tours were booked and detailed recommendations for everything imaginable. He is an absolute jewel of a person and our chats over breakfast (freshly assorted local fruit and a priceless view) were one of the most memorable moments of my stay. Mai Tai is the perfect venture right outside of Daintree, between city center Port Douglas and Mossman, with easy access to beautiful beaches, fine dining, shopping, spas, and local tours. The secluded location guarantees privacy and total relaxation, and is the ideal place if you want to be away from the bustle of a busy city, traffic, and people. I also loved the Balinese themed decor and the outdoor shower is an absolute must!

Mai Tai Resort is absolutely stunning, Andre and his sister's hospitality deserves 10 stars and we had the most wonderful holiday. We hired a car (essential) in Cairns and drove up to Port Douglas, stayed at Mai Tai for five nights and spent our days exploring the area. The resort is not really far from the town but far enough to be private and secluded. The views are amazing and the small number of guests means it is always quiet and peaceful. Andre provided delicious breakfasts and made sure our stay was perfect. Our room was comfortable, clean and well-serviced. The pool was also lovely, and we had it to ourselves every time we swam! And for dog lovers, there is a pair of very friendly Blue Heelers (Skye and Summer) that love pats and scratches. Also prior to the holiday I contacted Andre, he recommended and booked for us two fantastic day tours (Wavelength Reef Cruise and Daintree Safaris). I would absolutely stay at Mai Tai again and 100% recommend it.
