Avoid room 17- This room is sold as a double but in reality is a single Impossible to get out of bed on both sides as bed just fits into corner of room- Would be fine as a single Outside of hotel jaded which is a shame when money has clearly been spent on the inside Real flowers and plants would be more suited for a boutique hotel than the plastic ones outside and in reception Helpful staff Stairs steep Unsuitable hotel for anyone with mobility problems Would use another hotel next time if in Sheffield

Lovely hotel with great staff. We couldn't have asked for a better stay near the city but also a short drive and you are in the peaks. Would definitely go there again, although we heard that the hotel might be closing due to landlord issues which would be a shame seeing it is hard to find a place you 3ould recommend.

I have stayed here four times in 2023 and had a great time on each visit. The staff at the bar and reception are very friendly and there is very convenient parking at the rear of the site. There is a bus stop just 50m from the hotel entrance with buses passing into the centre of the city.

I needed somewhere to stay while visiting my son in Sheffield. I looked at the usual premiere inn but so glad I found the Psalter. I booked a single room expecting a tiny bed but actually got a small double room. Very comfy bed, modern and clean room with ensuite. I had two blissful nights sleep! I didn't try the food but the breakfast smelt amazing!!

We spent a long time trying to find a hotel in Sheffield so we could visit our son who is studying at the university. We chose The Psalter because it was a small boutique hotel and had excellent reviews. And we were not disappointed. On arrival we were told we had an upgrade to one of the suites. The suite was clean, modern and equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The bathroom was modern with complimentary toiletries from The White Company. When we arrived we were told that the hotel wasn't able to offer a cooked breakfast, but we opted for the continental breakfast which was only £5pp. The choice was wonderful with granola, cereals, fresh pastries, muffins, yogurt, toast and fresh oranges. We also received 2 for 1 vouchers for drinks at the bar. The staff were so friendly and helpful and could not do enough to make our stay perfect. We were so saddened to hear that this hotel is going to be closing, we really thought we had found the perfect hotel for future visits to Sheffield. Thank you to everyone at The Psalter for making our stay 5 star.

Lovely small hotel. I stay here whilst on business and always receive a warm welcome. Has more of a boutique feel to it, with cool artwork and luxurious furnishings. Beautiful touches in all the rooms and for the couple of nights a week that I regularly stay, it's perfect.

Very small room very hot and very compact. The room was airless and down a long corridor. Was expensive and breakfast was adequate for what we paid. Car parking was simple. We had to get a taxi into town as no buses.

Not our first visit to The Psalter by any means. So why do we return? We have tried umpteen Sheffield hotels and this is the most welcoming. It also has easily accessible, free parking. It's a little quirky though. Not accessible on any count; no air conditioning; breakfasts are a bit 'hit and miss'; and bar food is rarely available. The last is, for us, the most significant shortcoming for a boutique hotel which is by no means the cheapest in town. But despite some significant shortcomings, I can work around them and am returning in a few weeks because it is a friendly place to stay. I like that.
