South View Lodges

We've just returned from a long weekend staying in Cedar Lodge based at the South View Lodges. I cannot recommend this place enough, from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we departed we felt like we were in heaven. We were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly and a roaring fire. The lodge was immaculate and very modern. Jill came in and welcomed us and answered all the questions we had. She recommended local places to eat and showed us how to use the hot tub and log burner. She invited us to come and visit their alapas too! The weather wasn't on our side thanks to Storm Bert but this didn't take away from our weekebd away, the covered sunken hot tub meant we could still enjoy it despite the awful rain and high winds! It was the perfect excuse to actually relax and enjoy the surroundings whilst in the comfort of the beautiful, warm, and cosy lodge. A small selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided, as well as toilet paper and cleaning products should you need them Highly recommend staying here and we wouldn't hesitate to go back! We also met Jill's husband Andrew who was equally lovely and welcoming. Thank you so much for a weekend we won't forget ❤️

This  location ticked all our boxes when booking: fishing holiday for husband's 50th, relaxing for me with hot tub and quiet location. Jill and Andrew were welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble (not that we had many queries). First let me stay considering it is so close to Exeter. Although opened 2 years ago, the decor was as pristine as the website images. Both bedrooms were beautifully decorated, with comfy beds and en-suite bathrooms and had underfloor heating throughout the property. The lounge, dining area and kitchen were all nicely decorated and had everything that you needed for the comforts from home. The outside seating  and hot tub were undercover so even when it did rain, we could enjoy it still.  The fishing was everything my husband hoped for, catching 10+ fish each day.  And to add to our enjoyment, we had alpacas in the field next to us. They came to watch us each day and we took advantage to go feed them one day: the boys, the girls and the babies. All too cute, and an Devon Show Awarding male as well! A treat. A great holiday and everything we wanted from it!

We have just had the best 4 night stay in the Oak Lodge. The area is just beautiful, private & peaceful. The owners Jill and Andrew are so welcoming and clearly so passionate about Southview Lodges which makes all the difference. It was 5* accommodation and we loved it. It was a perfect Easter break to relax and have some quality family time. We relaxed in the hot tub for hours just taking in the scenery & watching the alpacas roaming in the fields. The kids loved feeding the Alpacas experience, along with meeting the lovely dogs & watching them running around the fields. Looking over the lakes added to the relaxation and although we do not fish, I think the hubby now wants to give it a go. We are definitely planning on going back. Such a special place away from all the hustle and bustle of life.

We stayed for 1 week from the 24th February in Willow Lodge. We had an absolutely amazing stay, the lodge was perfect, it had everything we needed. The layout of Willow may or may not suit your requirements, it has a double bed with en-suite (toilet and bath, no shower) and twin beds with en-suite (toilet and shower). Willow is the last lodge to the right of the lakes, so you don’t get anyone walking or driving past. The hot tub was great, and with it being covered you did not have to worry what the weather was doing (although it was dry the whole week). Jill was very helpful and recommended some great places to visit. The fresh eggs are also a must. The log fire was nice to cosy up to in the evenings, logs were included. We could see the alpacas from the gate into no 6 lodge, but they were not accessible at the time we were visiting. We would not hesitate to recommend SVL and would definitely stay again.

We booked this lodge to celebrate our mothers 50th birthday! A beautiful gem in the woods! We enjoyed our weekend away with laughs and bubbles in the hot tub and then sat near the fire in the evenings. If you are looking to book a relaxing weekend with the girls, this is definitely the right place.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay, the owners Jill and Andrew are so helpful and friendly and they have created a beautiful place to stay. Lodges are high spec with fast Wi-Fi and each of them is by a lake. Fishing is available but it definitely is not solely based around fishing and not all guests do. We did and the fishing was really good with some lovely fish. Location is really peaceful but with Exeter within easy reach to explore - local taxi firm recommended by the owners was brilliant. We loved it so much we have booked again for next year!
